Breather kit details please.

Can anyone tell me how the breather kit, that Johnny sells,

is working.

I don't want to disturb the man himself, as I heard he's

rather busy.

I'm just trying to decide which way to go.

I've got a diagram of a breather kit that Stillen recommends

and wanted to see if Johnny's setup is equivalent or better.

Appreciate any info.

Hi there Maciej

Fitted my breather kit about five months ago and it seems to be doing its job. I had two problems after I removed the cats on my car. The first was the obvious build up of pressure on the turbo oil seals. The second was a build up of condensation in the exhausts. Each time I went to use the car it would just pile white smoke out of the exhausts. The head gasket on my car was ok after checking so I was a bit concerned. Johnny Boy said he had the same problem and that this kit from turbo tecnics sorted it out. Once fitted it seemed to do just that!!

No more smoke out of the car luckily.

It took the garage I used about two or three hours to fit the kit. They said it was not too difficult to fit, just a bit awkward. Going from memory the kit was around £250.00 and worth the money since it sorted out my car.

I think Smithy and a few of the other guys have had these kits fitted. I does give a nice little whooosh sound when you put the clutch in and change gear. It's worth the £250.00 just to have that!!LOL

Hope this helps a bit M8. I am sure Johnny can give you more info though.

Seez ya!

BTW If you send me a copy of the stillen diagram I can look to see if it is the same set up as mine.

Thanks m8!

Do you know if it's still connected to the manifold, through the PCV-valves?

Does it take care of the "sucking in oil at right turn"-problem?

Maciej

I will check anyway for you Maciej but I think the answer to you first question is yes it is( will confirm )

Not sure about question two M8. All I can say is that it works fine and has given my Zed no problems.

I'm gonna contact Johnny about a group buy. I think there's some interest here ...

Could well be up for that Andy wink.gif My turbo's are only on silk cut at the moment but I'm sure they are getting addicted and will be smoking more often biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

Am up for a breather kit too.

Shows how good my memory is Maceij, sorry about the duff info on the breather kit price!!!. I have spent soooo much on this car now I lose track. Smithy is quite right, after looking at my cars invoices last night the kit was about £120.00

Seez ya!!

Maciej,

Can you post the diagram of the Stillen breather kit ?

Andy

I think I'm in. Let me know if the group buy goes ahead.

My Z kicked out a load of smoke last night when I hit kickdown. I can't get it to do it today. What position should the boost needle register on full boost on a JSpec?

Would this Breather Kit help? From reading previous posts my problem seems to be the hardening of the turbo seals, does this sound right?

Tim

Andy,

Sure I can.

I'll do that when I get home.

Maciej

TT Tim,

I'm working with Johnny to sort out a good deal. Details should be with us soon.

Sounds like the kit would be of use to you. Your symptoms are similar to mine. Dawdle for a while then boot it - cloud of grey/blue/brown smoke which lasts for 2-3 seconds then clear again.

Andy,

That's it, had restless night thinking about replacement turbos, never mind it's taken over from the Inland Revenue! lol

Thanks, mate, keep me informed wink.gif

Tim

Well, I already have mine booked in from Sat the 20th for my breather kit and 2 SQVs. Should be fun.
