well, thought I would have a weekend of attaching bits!! fitted new apexi intake (Thanks to Chris@getgreddy;)) front strut brace (Thanks to Danny) and new hks dump valves complete with hard pipes (Cheers Ryan) well have fitted the d/v's as instructed, made sure all t pieces were secured with teeny tiny jubi clips so as airtight as poss (after idling problem discussed with Ryan) checked and double checked the clips onto the intakes themselves.

now apart from needing to remove/cap off the factory recircs why should it do the following:

1.if shifted into park or Neutral it cannot settle at a steady idle goes from almost nothing to about 11/1200 then eventually cuts out. however if at a standstill you leave it in Drive... idles at about 7-800 no problem.

2. if you drive hard then have to come to a complete stop, the revs dip and it can cut out (PITA at roundabouts!!)

3. noticed when then engine was struggling to idle the centre section of the d/vs was slowly pulsing in and out, if I press the centre to stop it moving, the revs pick up and the car idles perfect.

yep drivers side one pipe runs over to passenger side - teed in to other d/v then spare side of that t running into the pipe that runs from the lowest hex head bolt on the passenger side of plenum. all t's connected with clips.

strange that if i push the end of the valve in, she ticks over as norm..

on the upside when she is going she is running well!! makes it even more frustrating

Liam there are two silver screws in the black cap try removing these, I will check the spare tubbing I had to make sure that its teed of the right point in the engine vac

Surely these are adjustable?! Most DV's are...

They shouldn't be opening on idle.

removed the screws... still doing it!!! its the passenger side. You can hear the air escaping through the trumpet as it is ticking over - does this mean its no good? or maybe there are internals that are worn???????

Ryan

If they are similar to the TurboXS ones I have, you might be able to put a spacer washer under the spring to increase the pressure?
