As most of you know I'm going to attempt to remove my plenum and swap it this weekend, is there anything else I should consider doing while it's off?

(I may have already asked this, sorry if I have....LOL)

I'm doing;

The PCV hoses

Coolant hoses (bypass, a write up would be good!!)

Coil pack connectors changed for new

Possibly Spark plugs (if THOR can supply in time, as it's short notice!)

Fingers crossed that the chromed balance bar turns up, if not it will be done later.

Anything else I should look at doing while it's off???

Thanks in advance as always,

:D

Remove EGR system?

Not sure how easy it is to get to while the engine is in the car though?

I wouldn't think it was too bad to get to the valve at the back when the plenum is off.

I just cut some thin pieces of metal to cover the plenum holes, put liquid gasket on them and screwed them on.

Water bypass is easier than it looks at first.

Cheers fella's........

:D

Feel a bit better about things now. :)

ok. just so I know why.

Why would you bypass?

EGR system is a pita to remove with engine in , even with the plen off you still have to move half the water pipes round the back of the engine along with vac lines etc , there are two bolts holding the EGR valve in place and these are nearly impossible , have spent most of the day trying to remove one and have decided its easier to pull the engine, as Chris says water bypass is a piece of cake, there is also a vac bypass on the passenger side of the plen which makes life easier

2 bolts are simple ;) 1/4" drive ratchet fits just nicely between the bolt and the bulkhead, you just need a bar to use as a lever on the ratchet ;) I snapped a socket clean in 2 tho doing this :D
