Another idea

Top clarify modification, could andyduff (say) produce a guide to all engine mods to boost power - ie. more power comes from 3 ? things - more fuel, more air (oxygen) and better timing ?

Explain how each mod boosts power. eg., performance exhaust allows engine to expell waste gases more efficiently, which in turn allows more air and fuel in.

or eg. intercooler cools compressed air which is warmed due to compression. When cooled this allows more dense (cool) air into the engine.

You could also add where additional mods are advisable to give a balanced reliable setup. ie. where a mod creates a weak point in the engine -eg. nitrous injection might suggest forged engine internals to cope with the power.

this wud b good in an Excel psreadsheet.

wot u think ? :nelson:

how about a 4th - reduction of weight/friction - come on nelson, i would have thought this would have been at the top of your list!!!

also, more fuel is only beneficial if your getting more air anyway!

yes, meant more fuel AND air in desired ratio. guess if u increase one, the engine management system adjusts the other accordingly, assuming you are not asking too much of the engine.

Are you having 2nd thoughts about selling now Nelson ?.

May as well strip it out and beef it up ;).

no, want to sell still - just thinking of modding the 200SX.

guess andy has done part of the job ........

andy says better intercoolers don't give more power - I question this, as surely cooler air is more dense = more air (oxygen) = more power.
