Anyone know of any companies that can store a car while the owner is out of the country for a few years?

You can store them in most places, but you have to remove all fluids, oil, petrol etc. And long term it will cost you. Would be easier and cheaper to find a family member or friend with a spare garage, that way someone can do the basics of turning it over, rotating the wheels etc.

Sadly not an option, since none are rich enough for the luxury of a spare garage.

What do you mean by most places? I would need someone reputable, but who also doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

Problem really stems from a possible move to Canada. The buggers won't let you import a car unless it's over 15 years old, so would need somwehere to hid here for 4 years. In Canada, Zeds seem to cost at least £12000 and that's with the evil of an auto box plus mega mileage

I looked at storing a couple of bikes a while back, and contacted most of the big storage companies and they all said the same, no fuel, no oil. As for costs as they work on cubic feet, it would not be cheap. If you are talking about four years storage (presuming you would make a loss of 7 grand by selling your car (5k) and buying one out there (12k) ) you are looking at finding storage for less than £145 a month before it even starts to make sense. The other option is specialist storage, which you will find on a search, but again 15-30 quid a week. And none of the above takes into account transporting it after the four years are up. What about exporting to the states, registering it there and driving it into canada?

may well be better to rent a garage or lockup. My brother in law stored his old beamer for a few years pretty cheap. I guess you just gotta get lucky with the price.

Better to lend it to someone you trust, IMHO, it's criminal to have a car like that sat doing nothing!
