I have a question for you all, i bumped into a Z owner in reading who was quite rude :slap: and wasn't interested in the club :nono: . all i did was ask him if he was in it as it was a Z.

So my question to you all is if he spent £40K on his Z what sort of BHP do you think it would be pushing?

Featured Replies

no idea - it could be anything

if you buy a zed and send it to SE Nisstek and say do everything to it inside and out it works out to £35k. so either the guy has had the car a long time and keeps changing things i.e. Macca or he has had some serious customisation done to it.

probably no help at all :mac1: :D

well it looked pretty stock on the outside, but he had just spent 11k on an engine rebuild, and it's only just pushing 550bhp.

i think he was a little ripped off personally...

550hp is seriously respectable - i hope i get that - £11k sounds in the correct sort of ballpark - what did he spend the other £29k on?

Most of us Reading zedders are totally amicable.

Cant be doing withe these folks who got a chip on the shoulder- he probably goes home each night and shags his exhaust pipes

........ he probably goes home each night and shags his exhaust pipes

LMAO

There is actually a proper term for this - autolepsy IIRC ;)

There was an article on it in Lax Power some years ago.....

.....I'll say no more  (But the accompanied photos were of a Scooby driver :p )

Richard :nono:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

11k for a 550 rebuild ummmmmmm!!!

I think my engine re-build from SE is about £6,000 basically all new everythings, forged pistons, rods, solid lifters group n gaskets etc

if you add to this bits i already had verniers, nismo injectors £1,500

and add some tubular manifolds and some big turbos and wastegates £4,000

it brings you up in the region of £11k - i should be putting out approx 550hp i think

only an absolute cock would spend 40k on a z you could buy 2 new 350z's for that or 2 top spec r33's.....nobody spends that kind of money on z's anymore and even if they say they do they are lieing

LOL Well Toolmeister I could have paid cash for a 350Z with the money I spent on my engine so what? the 350Z is slow who would want one?

Does that mean only a cock would buy one? NO;)

you take the bait so easily....plenty of cocks will buy the 350z and i will be one of them. all the prices quoted when you see whats being spent ie ure new clutch r u really telling me you have paid that price i dont think so you will be bending everybodies ear like you do johnnies for a mega deal and im sure the figure you say you have spent is full retail when in reality you are probably getting it at 50% this is why i say nobody has spent 40k on a z no matter how much of a z fanatic they. dont get me wrong the z is a beast and always will be but what im seeing lately is the effite snobbery the 300 lads got from the 240 lads when they first came out face facts the 300 is slowly but surely on its way out you either evolve or become a dinosaur

PMSL You are so wrong my pie eating friend:D,I really do wish I had a 50% discount of that clutch that would be a fantastic deal I did get a discount but it still cost well over 1.5K UK £.

350Z: NA 2-seater, slicktop.

300ZX: Twin turbo 2+2 targa.

Not the same sort of car at all.

That said if I had 40k to spend on a tricked turbo it wouldn't be a Z. You could buy a proper Porsche for that sort of money.

LOL - I wish you'd used your money more wisely then, and paid cash for mine!!! The I wouldn't have a finance deal to worry about.

Just out of interest, it may be slow compared to the mother of all Zs, but slow it ain't (especially now the engine's starting to loosen up). It will keep up with a stock 300 IMO. ;)

What's more, it'll keep up with one easily on the back of the AA truck!!

CheerZ,

JB. :p :D

the 350Z is a nice car........

.....the 300ZX is a nice hobby :hyper:
