OK, I know this has been discussed a million times before (i have done the searches) but...........

Which front brake upgrade would you go for?

I am looking at quite a few, 3G, Chris@GReddys 313mm jobbies, R33/34GTR's

So, which one's then??????? BTW, I haven't got Thousands to spend so no silly AP 8 pot or full Brembo conversions etc.

Thanks in advance as usual :)

R33 GTR is the way to go.........so some say, this will make interesting reading as I'm up for an upgrade in the stopping department too.....

Matty.

Have to be GTR brakes as GTS and GT-T have the same as the 300ZX

Hello mate,

I have just gone for the Porterfields front and rears of Smithy and the 10 groove 3G front discs, havent fitted them yet but will report back once done, think i might get the front caliper re-new kit for MJP aswell while im doing it. For the discs and pads it has cost me £290 so hopefully its quite cheap??

I'll post once all done and tell ya the results.

Cheers

Ant :hyper:

make sure all your std callipers are working to start with, if they are then i'll shut up, but a fully working stock set up isnt that bad to be honest!

They are when there as warped as mine :(

I have Front and rear brembo slitted and drilled, metal master pads with standard caliper and they make huge difference.

i have just fitted the 3G upgrade 310mm groved discs, they come with brackets and bolts to fit the standard calipers upgraded mintex pads the stopping power now makes the zed stand on its nose , awesome is how i would describe it

fairly expensive for the upgraded discs though at around 500 quid mark

I would say for the money a GTR set up is a good way forward. I used to have huge discs but with standard caliper and I felt it was only half the job done and ended up selling them. I've now gone for the best I could get hold of but in standard size. Thats Brembo grooved discs (from 3G) Porterfield pads, braided brake lines, master cyl brace and top brake fluid.......although I've still to fit the braided lines.

Rich, next time you're over I'll take you out and you can see what you think of mine. Got R34 stuff with porterfield pads (pads going on this week, currently old EBC)

Thanks all.

Sillen,

With regard to the 310mm upgrade,

Do you have standard wheels on the car?

If not, do you know if this disk/spacer kit will fit under standard wheels?
