I worked for a bank and repo'd one in 1990 off a guy in Watford. It had about 1,100 miles on it and I drove it around for about 6 months - totally smitten but couldn't afford my own till '98. Same one ever since and I'll probably be buried in it :D

Actually I saw that original car for sale a couple of years ago and thought.."oooh if only they knew !!"

Steve,DaveW has the newest UK car that I have seen to date,am sure he paid 20K for it many years ago total stock too

Yeah m8 it was £19k for a stocker - worth a fraction of that now

The guy who I brought mine off for £3,000 brought it for £12,500 in June 2001!!!!

I was shocked when I read the invoice!

Matty.

LOL - almost £24k for mine! Thieving scumbag Nissan Main Dealers (they did me on the p/x as well!) :slap: It was 4 years old and had 40k on the clock. Still love it though :D

Steve what did your PX?;) :x: :x: :x: :x: :x:

Steve,

The problem back then was finding one. I looked for 6 months before finding this one (first I looked at). I rang dealers nationwide and only 2 came up.

Iain,

I'm the same as you (to a very small extent), it doesn't matter how much it costs, it's all worth it when you drive your Z and you still get that smile. I know you know what I mean :)

Had mine 4.5 years.

Been off the road for 2 of those

As Vijay says, nothing else legal gives you such a grin

Steve what did your PX?

No it wasn't the MR2 :slap: Calibra 16V (which I bought after my first Zed) :( Crappy front wheel drive pile of Vauxhall crap  Had to go back to the Zed - no competition ;)

LOL - I wasn't even looking for one. I was showing my then girlfriend what I used to drive and made an impulse purchase. No regrets though (except maybe the price!)

I just remembered LOL!

There was a guy on here that sold his last year that bought it brand new! was it Grant?

Almost right MAC..You sure got a good memory. Bought it new on 8th August 1991, but i didn't sell it last year. I've still got it.

Paid £28,995 - Reduced from the original price of £34,995 a few months earlier due to the recession.

The guy i bought mine off had it for 7 years and he paid £24k for it

Kirbz

1 year and 3 months, but that is amazing for me, I usualy change my car every three to 6 months max.

Paid 5k, it needed a respray at the time, had no MOT or TAX, four bald tyres and a leaky master cylinder, oh and some of the interior was in bits!! but I loved it, knew its history and prev owners as went with them to buy it when it was stock so didnt mind.

I'll have owned mine for 6 years this September - not been off the road for anything much yet - normal wear and tear stuff - Paid 9K for it in Sept 1998

Stevo did it have square type exhaust tips lol?

it was sat up duffs for about 6 months cause Jay had big plans for it, but then he went and bought a westfield and so nothing came of it.

Thats how it looked now, it was orangey rotting colour on the back when I bought it with no paint and just primer, also had a big RIP on the back that I think duffer wrote on it lol.

Ah I thought so;) Do you still have that exhaust fitted? Is it loud?

Yeh sounds pretty sweet, the back cans are the only silencers on the system, the rest is straight through, cats etc all removed.

I'm actually going to remove the back cans and just opt for a 3" bellowed to a 4" toward the back (straight tube no silencers), the back coxes clamp onto the rest of the zorst so I can chop and change the easily enough.

Only reason i'm doing this is for the odd track day etc just cause I removed the square boxes the other day and it sounded dirty as hell.
