Have you tested for ecu error codes? Sounds like a code 21, i.e. a PTU failure to me.

Check the connections on the PTU but it sounds like it's failed to me.

The PTU is effectively the distributor so no power to the plugs.

The ptu is a phase 2 that I put on last weekend?! any other thoughts?

Why did you change it?

Becuase its a series 2 one doesnt meant it cant fail.

no mate the phase 2 is brand new. just done fault readings and it's come up with crank sensor! what does this mean apart from big bucks?

It means you disturbed the connection on the CAS ;) Opposite bank of the engine, same position as the PTU, shiney round thing. Make sure the connector is clean and correctly seated...

Andy, iv been trying that all after noon but am still stuck mate.

Urgh, erm..... Checked the ecu connector is seated properly?

where would i find that mate?

Under the wooden (no I'm not joking it really is wood lol) floor board in the passenger side footwell. Biggest metal box in there. Are you sure the pins are connecting on the cas? Sometimes they need crimping slightly to make proper contact ;)

just had ago at pinching the connectors but still no joy and also tried all of the ecu connections aswell!

try putting the old PTU in to see if it starts, have you put the new one in corectly

already tryied the old ptu aswell grahar81, and as far as putting in the new one it seemed to be ok last week so i think i put it inright.

If it's saying the CAS is faulty and the connections to it are good...

then replace the CAS!!! :D

Paul what does cas stand for again? looked in the search but cant find the meaning, plus do you have any idea of the price for another cas? starting to get a little down hearted about these faults now......I'm gonna go and have a cry.........

forgot to mention that I got it de-cated yesterday just before died- but this shouldnt of done it any harm would it?

I also tried it this morning and she started straight away! What is going on!!!???

do another ecu diagnostic, see if you're getting any error codes

Vijay

Hi Vijay, just this min done a ecu reading and still giving me crank sensor!

any idea where if needed i could be getting one from and for how much??

Second hand - AndyZ, new - Mike Feeney, both in the traders section :)

Vijay

Im no expert but i really think its got to do with your P.T.U i know you changed it recently but id test by borrowing one and just seeing if it works,it was one of the last things you touched.

Surley your luck cant be that bad that something else connected to your problem also goes wrong like the CAS.
