I am not asking mate I am telling him he WILL be fitting them LOL:D;)

Me too

What sort of price for the kit, as there are several kits out there. Some you have to remove the wings and some you dont. The guy who owns the one in the pic is a buddy of mine, he says that a kit like that one will cost around £800

From what company?

You guys need to try getting in and out with the Targas on. I got a feeling it's gonna be a little more difficult.

But yeah they do look good ;)

I would not have a choice.

how the fook are you gonna get in that little opening  (add your own punchline!! :D )

or alternatively try http://www.qvrefurb.co.uk

Been to see them, only around the corner from me,they said NO,the Z doors are to heavy, this was before i saw the scissor doors that Mac's on about at Santa Pod,the guys at http://www.knightsbridgeperformance.com have improved on the original DECAH design, easier to fit and loads stronger with a more powerfull ram.Was the price £800 all in or per side cant remember.

Tony

LOL You tell yourself its a functional mod John

I saw this car at Santa Pod, v nice, but when you look down into the door hinge area it was v untidy. Maybe I'm a perfectionist...

Pete

they look good but did u see that they rub on the wing if you don't open them out enough before pushing them up

Mwhahahahahaha

The Doors looked great. TBH I love the idea but i'm a fat git and would never fit through the gap.

I was also very unsure regarding getting in properly, but Matt showed me the car and I was very impressed, it looks a lot easier than you'd think. I was thinking that the doors just go straight up, somehow, but on seeing that they come out a way then go up it gives you more room to get in.

I like this sort of mod, as it keeps to the original lines of the car, well when you doors are shut anyway :D No offence to the guys with body kits on, as i respect a well fitted kit

Can I justify spending that sort of money, at the moment, NO :( But we'll see what the future brings.

I must admit I like the idea of gull wings but didn't get chance to have a detailed look at the operation and fitment. I take it you must push the door open slightly to clear catch then they open upwards as they have the origional catch still fitted. I wonder how durable they are after several months of use, will they start to catch bodywork or foul wings etc??

Richard

the terminology for these doors is incorrect Lambo doors go straight up

the official technical term for these doors is

"whores legs" doors as they open outwards and upwards

i'm always up for that

too expensive for me at the moment tho

but in Romania you can have whores legs on you're car for a packet of fags!

Wouldn't it just be a case of placing a small steel bar above the door hinge at a specified lengh, therefore the door can not raise until it is opened enough to clear the steel bar. This way you can make sure you don't foul the wings at all.

Iv seen every type of lambo door conversion out there on the market and have to say that none in my honest opinion are worthwhile as they either catch bodywork or will break or become loose after a short time of use!

YES if it is a show car then maybe you could get away with it but i havent seen a decent kit till this day and i should know as i had been on about these doors for a very long time!

The only way i see a good version of this conversion is if someone actually makes them directly for the 300zx as it has a funny angle to the way it should open and on top the door ways a FVCKIN TON!

Well Fas you really needed to see this kit as none of the above applied! SgtC knows more about it as he was talking to the guy,Yes the Z doors are heavy but a 2 year old would have the strength to open these.
