Hi all,

I tried removing the belt today, but no luck.

Losed both bolts like in the pictures, but the it dose not losen the belt.

What else do I need to losen to get the first belt off?

Cheers, Alastair.

hello mate, have done a few of these and they generally are pigs to get on and off in my experience. You can undo the bolt on the front of the pulley and take the pulley off with the belt, but you run the risk of damaging the pulley. there is a small crown on the back face of the pulley around the spindle hole, which may crack. In my honest opinion, the belt is too small for the fitment, I would source a slightly longer belt and cut the old one off . HTH

I Might just cut if off, but I have got genuine nissan belts to replace them with. Cheers for the advise :)

On your first pic you have undone the bolt that will let you adjust the tensioner, you will find this if you follow the the thread that the bolt higlighted is attached to, its position will be to the left of the highlited bolt, this will allow the pump to slide over so the belt can be removed.

Tip, once youve undone the other bolt, pinch the the belt so you are taking the slack up with your hands then when the pump is moved over enough, wedge a jack handle behind it to keep it in place whlie you swap the belts.

I'll see if i can find a pic of the bit i mean.

OK, hope you can make sense of this, excuse the writing beig crap but it is 10 to 3 in the morning.

If you slacken the other 2 bolts off that are circled it will move easier, but only loosen them, dont remove them.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info, just finished changing the belts. Hope I don't have to do that often :)
