Jonce I have one fitted , gearbox is not to bad although tbh i have been in some auto's that have a good box on and the change is not that different , for what I payed for it i am quite happy

Matey, so you believe its worth paying the extra for. Not had much look with box's. One fryed on the way back from japfest then got another and one week after fitting that one keeps loosing drive and is making a right horrible noise. After speaking with Mac i decided to go for the fast box. Its just alot of money as you know. ;)

Jonce , i bought Macs old box mate , glad I did not pay 2k for one though , like I said the box is good and changes crisply and quick , seems to handle the power that has been put through it to , everybody's auto box seems to be going at the moment, half tempted to rip apart the SE box and see whats been done but will need another one to compare it to , sounds like a winter project

Gotcha.......you got a right fookin bargin there buddy :mad: LOL. Mac had told me previously that somone off the site had bought it but ive a brain of a fish and if i goto sleep i forget!! Would you pay full wack though? I know extra clutches are added. I seem to be getting quite a good collection of knackerd box's at the mo so if you want one i,ll sell it for £2000. LOL

not sure what they add tbh although I did have a very interesting conversation with an autobox speacialist that said normally to achieve the fast gear change and up the line pressure, you would make sure the box is in good condition then remove or bypass a fuse which in turn ups the line pressure , he even went as far as to say that there are 3 such fuses or ways of doing it in a zed , I should imagine this is all the ALC does in effect

You might prefer auto but you could convert to manual for about £600 plus labour.

When my box died I was going to do the fast road rebuild but for the money I could have 4 manual boxes and there's less to go wrong :rolleyes:

I loved my auto with ALC but manual seemed the sensible option.
