on the radio the other day a survey carried out in high-school USA painted a picture of us Brits as pacifists, child beating, arrogant and toffs...

so in response to this stunning piece of reserch i thought a wholly un-scientific survey of our own was in order.... ;)

ok lets have you opinions on our yankee reebok bermuda short wearing obese pals over the pond

with the wars in iraq, afghanistan, and the freindliness between blair and bush, I think its wise for everyone to remember

WE ARE NOT AMERICAN!!!!

fvcked up in the head - inbred, arrogant, greedy - like spoilt children. Often very thick.

sure there will be a lot of nice ones tho'

good research i see is coming in thick and fast....like most yanks i might add :)

I'm surprised they even knew what the UK was.... bunch of thick, arrogant bar stewards who think the world revolves around them. The majority should try revolving round my middle finger... eh hem.

And they get everything cheaper.... g i t s!

my bro lives in Bermuda and some ppl there thought WW2 was between Germany and USA !!! ..........or they didn't know who it was between ?!? Unbelievable.

Loud, proud and conceited......but why shouldn't they be? They seem to look out for each other and their welfare where we just see how much we can rip each other off for.....look at fuel prices for one simple example. Look at the cost of every fookin thing compared to here.

One big plus for me is that from my experience in the States last year, they are really sociable, up for a chat and willing to pass the time of day with you. People think you are some kind of nutter if you strike up a conversation with a stranger here!

LOL!! i actually like the yanks! :x:

for all their gob, there actually nice people IMO!!

very friendly, family orientated & know how to deliver good customer service in my experience :)

it strikes me as odd that whilst the yanks want to run the world they dont seem to know where it is..........:)

James300 & PaulC - spot on!

America is an amazing place and for all their faults, they are extremely friendly & nice ppl.

No wonder they're fat! the food is spectacular & facilities second to none!

Everyone wants what they have & try to emulate them at every turn, but also bang on about how much they can't stand 'em :/

I mean ffffs their income tax is 1% compare that to our 25-40% sheeeesh and we all know about the price of petrol

They aren't the sharpest tacks in the box tho' I used to work in a PC shop, where this american bloke who was an 'IT manager' came in to return a faulty SCSI card, he said it had been manufactured wrong. - I turned it upside down and plugged it in. He accepted at that point that I was infact greater than him :D

ITs all about sterotypes, I speak to at least one american person a day and they are all really nice,

same with scots, you are told they are going to kick your head in but every scot i've met has been freindly and up for a laugh.

he gets US TV...and says it borders on being like the Nazis in the war -it's so Nationalistic. Their national TV news does not even mention the UK wrt the war in Iraq !

well, apart from one!! :D :x:

And behind you back the 2 faced gits take the piss.

The yanks are too far up their own assholes. They see themselves as the guiding light of the world where everything they do is right and everything everyone else does is wrong.

They never want to live outside america, most dont even leave the country to go on holiday and they ALL have misconceived oppiniions of other countries.

Ever seen many Yank back packers around the world? Every other country but never Yanks.

mmmmmmmmm, just like the good old days of the British Empire

One thing about the USA,they would never allow tinpot European countries to enforce there way of life/rules/crazy regulations/dictatorship/way of life onto them like we have to suffer, its not the Yanks i worry about its our involvement in the EU,wish we could go back 30years and get shot of this fookin fiasco

well this is a nice representitive slice of British opinion on our baseball hat, gunslinging, serial killing, springer watching, miller drinking, bib overall wearing buddies....i think its best summed up by Dennis Pennis who said of California...."the musli of the world...its where all the nuts fruits and flakes hang out"

if it werent for the yanks giving a hand in ww2 everybody would now be talking russian chinese or german.......it may now be over 60 years ago that it happened but what they did then entitles them to a lot of thanks if you ask me. and before we get any of those full of it we kicked the germans arses crap take a step back and look at it until the us stepped in britain was 4 months away from becoming a holiday island weekend break for good old uncle adolf............and ill bet you can still smack your kids in the us and they have police in their schools that dont take shit from little retards who think they can punch teachers and then cry foul when they are expelled and be it oil motivated or not they go into the worlds troublespots to sort things every time knowing they will get shit for it afterwards........they get my admiration and thanks for doing so

hehe my 2p worth on that thread :D

Well that certainly told them fella :mac1:

Think at the end of the day, it's all down to lanuage, we talk different to them and they talk different to us.

I deal a lot with the US guys and have no problems at all, i also have a couple US close buddies ;) who 1 day i hope to visit and when these boys throw a car show for Zeds, boy do they  thousands appear from all over the US, so at the end of the day, no mater how they speak, they love Zeds - Zees and that's something good in my book and we are one an all the same !
