Just been down to :x: halfords :x: to look at some alloys........

been told that these dont fit our 300's

Anyone else herd of this they said the brake calipers are too big (although I asked about 18's not 16's)

Just thought I'd ask as the boffins there didnt know what speed rating the package tyres were (I just said oh, and had the same can't be arsed attitude)

They currently have 25% off packages so It would have worked out £925 for 235x18 front and 265x18 back

Anybody enquired anywhere about these?

its not how tall the brakes are its how far they stick out. The ZX calipers are large and stick out quite a lot.

When they say it wont fit they mean the spokes will hit the caliper because the off-set is wrong.

Yep of course it is, Was,nt thinking for a minute there :x:

Cheers

Paul, I was looking at these wheels recently and they are available in the correct offset.

Barry.

Yeh but they only do a 8.5j so the salesman at Halfords told me.

The stock rears on a Uk car are 8.5 wide - so providing you can get the right offset they will be ok.

On 8.5 wide, 255/35/18 would probably be the best fitting option for the rears.

The usual problem is that many of the more common wheel manufacturers do not make their wheels to fit our cars so you find you have to go for the more expensive brands - WheelMania, Azev, Antera, BBS etc....

Good luck ;)

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
