nah only joking - i depends on what you mean to anything close to the skyine? For starters we aint 4wd - apart from that the VG30DETT is held back mainly by the intake plenum and exhaust mainfold. The V6 doesnt lend iteself to large turbos but i would like to see a 50mph to 150mph shoot out.

 

p.s. at least the zed looks good :dance:

im no expert but maybe its something to do with the lack of room under the bonnet engine out when turbos to be replaced other than that ask nissan power isent everything id rather someone say your car looks the b****x than blow my engine up spending ££££££££ on mods imo by the way not taking nothing away from a skyline GT-R there awsome but i wouldent want a GT-S OR GTS-T ETC :( im happy at the mo. besides have u drove a z you actually fill like your driving a sports car.Lovely :dance:

i think the answer to your question is the fact that 'liners are about 10 years newer than the Z, and as said above are 4WD, and have spanking new technology crammed inside. and have a sexy MFD on the dash (but my RSM will be in soon so shove it ;) :hyper: )

A super car is a something like a porsche gt2, keonigsegg, ferarri 360/550, mosler, noble. Something designed to do 200mph with handling to match.

 

You might get a Zed to supercar 'performance' but it'll never be a super car.

you tell that to the pulsar boys - a well tuned pulsar will eat just about anything off the lights.

it's not difficult to run with a shorter stroke and bigger turbos when you've less displacement and a straight config to run a single turbo

yep- compared to the MX5 we are a dam fine supercar. Got an MX5 driver at work who keeps going on about being able to out do a zed on country roads- but if i were manual, I'd like to teach him a thing or two... :xxx:

car (mundano, corsa, 318...endless list.)

sports car (rx8, mx5, mr2 200sx)

performance car (m5, m3, Zed, supra, skyline)

supercar (proper cars that no one can afford)

 

Any car can be tuned to supercar performance, doesn't make it a supercar.

There are 200sxes that will make any 300 on this site look bad on track and drag strip. Still not a supercar though.

I must say that when I was at the SE rolling road day I was well fooked off, DaveW's car was ace...not that much done to it and producing big BHP at the wheels and at the crank but I have to say that after watching all that expensive metal Mark Hanleys 200 stole the show!

 

So stop saying how good the Z is, show it to be good. Sick of seeing everyone on here going on about how shite skylarks are and everything else just coz you own one, yeah they might not be good looking but why the fook do alot of us spend so much on our Z's and yet none of us prove or show them off properly?

 

People slag Macca off for having his car in Max Power, well I say good on the guy...at least he's got the balls to put his car up front. Most of you just go on about how good yer car is, and at the end of the day... where is the Z?

CJ the RB runs short stroke and big bore (undersquare) which means it very good for high revs.

 

THe CA18, RB25 and RB26 blocks and heads look identical, btu the RB26 is far more tuneable than the RB25, mainly due to the stroke.

You can do work on the RB25 & CA but the drawback will always be the stroke meaning that you can't high rev it.

I know what you mean though, what needs to happen is that you get some decent high powered zed out of here. Hopefully it will happen soon.

 

I mean FFS there are more 200s with ~500bhp than there are zeds on here and you have 3l as opposed to 1.8l or 2l.

But I don't dispute that ultimately the VG should be easily capable of ~800bhp, just a matter of people biting the bullet and doing it.

the skyline has a CD of .35, the Zed .31 which will make a HUGE difference at anything above 200mph.

Not only that once you are over certain speed 4wd wont give you any advantage, infact will be detrimental.
