Just looking at an NSX on e-bay apparently 270 BHP and 0-60 in 5.7 seconds,is this the same 0-60 time as a 300ZX twin turbo manual?????

All info I've seen so far indicates Z32 TT man does 0-60 in 5.5 ? and the Auto does 5.7 ? this wrong then?

NSX costs 12k more tho  it isn't that nice!

NSX is an NA engine and the car is made out of aluminium for lightness, I think they similar spec as regards to speed

whilst that means no rust, aluminium can still rot and is a lot more expensive to replace

But no forced induction system to break.

Or any lag.

Deffo would have bought one over the Z if I had the funds available.

My mate owns one and he's had nothing but trouble with it. The parts are crazily priced and finding somewhere to work on them has proven a nightmare for him. Personally I would never sway my Z for an NSX.

The Zed is a 'bit' quicker in a straight line, but an NSX would kick the Zeds arse round a track by many, many seconds.

the nsx is a nice bit of kit but then it does have a posy pedigree....personally i could have owned one but to be honest i feel the 300 is vfm and easier to leave parked...i reckon to use the top gear cool wall idea...300 is cool and respected by road users i get lots of comments...but the nsx well is a bit on the naff side now

discuss............

nsx is a better looker by far but having seen the costs of running one ure far better off with a z and also having driven both straight line speed a z murders the nsx but on the twistys the nsx more than gives the z a lesson or two

0-60 is hard to calculate. 2nd gear on a Z will goto 60 or 65. 2nd gear on the NSX tops out at 90mph.

I've had 90 out of my old auto in 2nd :D

I like the front of the nsx but then they forgot about the back its horrible :nono:

Not that nice? In your opinion, personally I think Honda got it cracked bud...N/A with same performance as the Z and reliable aswell...Hmmm, yeah the Z is streets ahead! ROFL :)

The NSX is a 'better' car from a journalists point of view, but try to get one for 5K and use it every day, in this category the Z knocks spots of anything, can't get more reliable BHP per £.

With the age of these cars you got to compare them in terms of price vs. performance and here the Z wins, no debate.

Hmm

I do like the NSX, but that back end is way too long and spoils the overall appearance somewhat. As Herman says the ZX is "slightly" quicker in the straights but the NSX has better handling capabilities. As for reliability they are supposedly generally reliable as the ZX is in the main but if something went wrong, like Vijay says, it will sting you more than the ZX would if you can find someone to repair it

I would have considered one but not at that cost, the ZX is way more car for the cash. In fact I'd go for the Supra TT over the NSX, for what the Soop lacks in the looks department a UK soop will stuff an NSX for performance in straights and twisties.....

Besides I like the effortless low down performance of the ZX (and Soop). The V-tec lump is sweet but you have to work it very hard for max peformance ;)

I'm glad I chose the Zed  It's actually more practical than the NSX too :p

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

i think the yank swb tt is 5.5 - while we've gotta be happy with 5.6/5.7 (and yes, i AM happy  )

NSX engine sounds VERY nice. The back end looks fantastic. Lovely NA motor- I'd have one if I could afford the maintenance. Too much supercar maintenance though- my zed has 'reasonable' running costs. I read that article in Jap Performance not so long ago and the tuning part cost were frightening- like £2000 for new headers.

NSX is the *****x, just a shame that the name sounds like a STD! ROFL :)

NSX is more complete as a sports car, the Z was always designed for fat yanks imho, oh and take into account that the nsx has no turbo's to weigh it down so how can you critisice a car like that? Same agility as the porky Z but also has the looks and the speed and handling...top's if you ask me. Just an opinion by the way before you all lynch me. ;)

LOL at SkylineGTR-Dave, if the z was designed for fat yanks then the GTR was designed for Mammoth's! Just look how big and heavy the GTR is, it needs to go on a diet.
