Missfire still

Hi guy's. As you may know I have had a missfire on tickover now for sometime. I have just replaced all the corroded injector and coil pack connectors. Went out for a run and now it's missing all the time no matter the revs. Before it was only missing below about 1500rpm. The problem seems to lie with the centre coil pack on the LH bank because when I take the plug off the top the engine note remains the same. I have also swapped coil packs around to no avail. As I drive the car now under full throttle it seems to stop missing for a second or so every couple of mins. The only thing I haven't tried is the spark plug but I have taken it out and cleaned it up and it seemed newish?

Could this be my series one PTU going west? Why now I've replaced all the connectors would it make the problem worse? Is it just the ECU re-learning it's settings?

Cheers

Ivan

I had a similar problem and was guided by a conversation on here with another Scottish lad and a couple of the guys.

Mine was a sticking valve caused by under use and slight wear on the valve stem oil seals. I emptied some Forte gas treatment into the tank and gave it a good run and it's cleared up entirely.

It's only about £7 from your local factor and may well be worth a bash!!

Hope that helps

I hope so, cos I cannae take it out now!!!

if youre not sure on the plug & dont want to pay out for a set then swap the plug over like you did with the coil! ;)
