Hi all. Walked into Halfords yesterday and asked for 6 spark plugs for my 300zx NA. Should have seen the look on my face when the nice lady said i wouldn't have a lot of change out of £100

Does anyone know if there's anywhere i can pick them up cheaper?? Are they cheaper in the states as i'm off there in a couple of months?

Cheers

Not that I know of me dad can get hold of most spark plugs trade and they still came in at around £14 each so I bought the NGK iradium racing plugs think they was about £90 for the 6

Cheapest ones from halfords for the TT are £16:95 each mate... think you would be better off getting some state side ;)

i just got 6 denso iridiums of ebay £50  worth putting a bid in f**k paying £16 each for standard plugs

coutesyparts.com get some other stuff while your on, the plugs are equivlent to about £40.

na plugs are different to tt plugs. Mine are platinum tiped NGK and have been in the car (1990 na) since it was imported over 4 years ago. Priced up platinum tipped from a motor factor recently and they were about £14 for 4 - so not super expensive as first thought. Every year I take the plugs out, admire them and then put them back in. I tried Iridium ones once but they didn't make any difference, and after a while looked worse than the platinum ones - so they went back in...

You need 6 though for a Z :D

...get away... 6... well, that explains a lot...

Went to college in Preston the year that they turned it from Harris College to Preston Poly - so there's a clue to my age, and a blight on my counting ability?

Job of a spark plug? Produce a spark to ignite the charge

Thats all it does! How can putting copper plugs in the engine damage it? If anything putting a copper plug in is a handy 'weak link in the chain' to have, especially if you are tuning to the limits...
