Guys,

I need some advice!!!

The car is about finished, but now that the rear wheel spacers are on, it is apparent that the wheels (19" khans) do not quite fill the rear arches. It has been suggested that I lower it - about 30-40mm rear and 20mm front.

I spoke to luke at Z centre and he advised me not to do it. I realise that lowering the back only will make the point to the sky, and that lowering the front a bit will make speed bumps a bit more of an issue (especially as the viper bumper is pretty low anyway)!!

I know there are some knowledgeable peeps here and am hoping for some advice on what to do, where to get them, how much and the potential problems. Should I read somewhere about progressive springs, is there any feedback on them?? Should I replace the shocks as well? If so, what do you recommend, where, cost etc.

Thanks

Rich

I know the Blitz progressive springs that I have give more lowering at the back but I'm not sure on the measurements.

eibachs are what you want, the drop is only about 1" but the ride is very good, not harsh at all!

I think its around 15mm front and 20mm rear?

Be aware that you will need the wheel alignment doing as it affects the camber - and this is NOT adjustable at the front so you will start eating your tyres in short order - You can buy a kit but its not cheap. This is probably why you have been advised not to do it - Isnt the ZX low enough for you already? Speed bumps will become a major problem.

Thanks fellas.

Spoke to Chris and the eibachs are out of stock in the UK. 4rse.

Does it sound like the Blitz are the way forward or are there others!?! Not sure 20mm will be enough at the back.

Blitz - the zed IS low enough for me in stock form, but having had the wide arch conversion done, the gap between the wheels and arches is slightly bigger and detracts a bit from the overall results. Am a bit concerned about speedbumps though!

The problem is not that the car is too high it is the arches sit higher than the stock ones. Lowering the car means that everything else that used to grind on speed bumps is gonna grind even more LOL.

I might wait till winter and extend the widearch down an inch or so to fill up the gap on mine.

The Blitz springs are not as low as some and because they are progressive they stiffen up nicely. With the Koni adjustable shocks the handling is transformed.

I've got the wide arse kit and it looks just right.

I don't have any more problems over speed bumps than I did before because the stock springs had sagged over the years anyway.

Blitz are what you want, had mine for a couple of years with NO TYRE WEAR problems.

nuts.

Had about decided on the Blitz when I spoke to GPS and they recommended only the Eibach ones. However they are out of stock in the UK.

Since Macca and others have the same arch kit from PPS, am tempted to go with the Blitz option same as them!! Anyone know where I can get them at short notice - Grasshopper said there was a 6 week waiting list!!!

Anyone got any in stock!?!?

Thanks

Rich

Bilky - sorry, for some reason I put your name as blitz in the last post. :slap:

In that case, get some Bilky springs - and some Bilky wheels too

just get some eibachs and be done get from the states, i did, http://www.coximports.com and i dont have uneven tyre wear either

I do a very good line of tyres and exhausts - all with a shiny 'Bilky' logo on them - No tat.

My MR-2 has some serious springs on it, and believe me...the Mrs. T complains all the time that her stomach is churning when she comes out in it! I love it though, like being in a bouncy castle...you get used to it after about 5000 miles! ROFLMFAO :)

Presume you don't have uprated dampers to match your super springs then?
