Beckham missed the penalty, Steevo fooked up a backpass that should have gone into the crowd and James shouldn't have stood behind the wall that he set up......

 

.......Heskey gave away a free kick......and was punished with a goal, but we should have been 2-0 up at that point!!

It was a poor penalty. He hit it well, but it was saveable and you'd expect a keeper diving the right way to save it. Zidane's wasn't saveable...

He took one against the Argies because it was personal, which he scored, but was not a good penalty and ever since then took it upon himself to take the others. To be fair, he did slip when he took that one.

 

I'm not happy to see Beckham saying afterwards that he thinks he took a good penalty though.

 

I'm even less happy to see Sven say "If we played this game again I wouldn't change the tactics at all. Except that in the last three minutes we would have put the ball in the stand." :mad:

 

If the England manager thinks it's OK to defend for 45 minutes, then I'd have to disagree. :nono:

I'm not saying it was entirely Heskeys fault. But he just isn't world class material. It would have stayed 1-0 if he never gave away that freekick.

 

+ Becks was the wrong choice for the penalty, I mean when they were together at Man U, who would he jave practiced against day in day out. Barthez would only have been confident when Becks stood up for the kick. oh! an as an ex half decent goalie, it was a p1ss penalty, he hit it right in the keepers sweet spot - outswinging about 1-1.5m away and about 3ft high. If you manage to guess the right way they are the easiest to save.

 

Sad to say, It's Svens fault for bringing all three subs in the first place. He only weakened the overall structure of the team. btw I only mentioned that I'm Scots to intonate my impartiality.

Loony Roony was wound up. but he was the only one who was running at them. Versails tackled beckham, Hesky takcled redknap, scoled back heeled to viera all within 10 minutes. Thats what come when you come out and decide you dont have to play 2 halves.

 

70% on the match was in our half, I think the boys need to understand that you cant win against a bloody team like that stuck in yet own penalty box.

 

for a good 15 minutes of the 1st half we owned that midfeiled. redknap was scaring them when he went walkabout, scolsi was backing off looking for a range and they where scared. then out we come after the break and hoofed everything up the pitch. And who did we have there, Loony Rooney and half pint Owen (who stoped running when Rooney set him up)

 

As for golden *****xs penalty, too low and too close for that standard, mind you fook he can cross a ball.
