Until I get down to Mr Dixon or up to Mr Duff, Im wondering whether anyone can help me.

Running 5 psi boost even when I switch the evc 3 on!!!

I used to get 15psi - I presume I got a boost leak.

It *sounds* like it could be from the rear of the engine (passengers side), but im not sure. I have tried spraying wd40 around the pipes and raising the revs to break vacuum and blow the wd40 but i cant seem to find which pipe *may be split or leaking*.

I have felt all around pipes, etc whilst raising revs but cannot feel any blowing from anywhere.

Any ideas? What pipes is it likely to be? *An idiot proof drawing or photo would be good* :)

Thanks

Rubber coupling on turbo outlet, balance bar seal, vacuum line off balance bar? Worth a quick check of all those.

Cheers JD, I presume all of them could cause a boost leak

If I spray around seals etc with wd40 and raise revs it should blow little oil bubbles - right?

You probably won't get enough boost without load on. You can make a 'stethescope' by putting a bit of vacuum tube in your ear then 'listening' with the other end. Looks stupid but works! Just make sure you don't push it against a good leak!!

The idle valves and stuff down the back of the plenum are worth checking too, esp. the hose from the middle of the balance bar to the warmup valve.

using carb cleaner would be a better idea, it would pick the revs up at idle if it finds its way into an air leak
