Hi guys, I have noticed lately that i am having to top up the radiator with water every couple of days by roughly half a pint.

The car is not over heating nor is there any bubbles when the engine is ticking over.

Any ideas on what i can check next?

Cheers

Paul

Mine use to do that. Turned out to be the Waterpump. Had it done with the cambelt and it leaked no more. ;)

The first time mine did that it was the water pump, the second time it was one of the metal pipes that connects the inlet/outlet from the radiator to the heads. It was a bugger to find the leak because it was so little that it immediately evaporates on a hot engine. In the end I tipped a bottle of red food colouring in the water and just waited for the trail of 'dried blood' to show up !

Check how full the expansion overflow tank is with the dipstick. If its going out the radiator cap then it goes there and if that is already full it overflows from there. Maybe just a poorly sealing rad cap. Take a look at the seal. Also feel / squeeze the top hose when its good and hot - it should be firm with pressure. If its soft you have a leak.
