Steering Wheel

My 1990 TT has an aftermarket wheel fitted. Consequently the cruise control doesnt work, although the on/off light does. I dont think the Hicas works either. I've been offered a standard wheel; this has three buttons on it apparently and is off a 1990 car. Is there circuitry within the wheel which will make everything work?

Cheers

The Hicas works off the Boss the wheel attaches to - most aftermarket wheels dont allow the cruise to work unless a new Boss is found and fits OK - A few people have found where to buyt them - I read that someone managed to make his own buttons away from the steering wheel - try a search and see if you can find it - Otherwise it may be better to take the standard wheel back - at least then everything will work!

I've been offered a standard wheel of a 1990 car for £55 incl p and p . Does that sound fair?

i was in the same position as you nearly a year ago - except not even the horn worked let alone the CC!!! i purchased a standard wheel for £50+p&p and am back to normal. so my advice is go for it (just dont go to a nissan dealer as they charge you £750 more!!!)
