Well not personaly, but some years back when it first came out under another name the Granada club did a test on it using different models, some ran better, some no difference, some ran worse,i had a good look at it at Japfest and it seems exactly the same product as way back then,it died a death then seems to have surfaced again,i allways thought if it was that good all the motor manufacturers would fit it,personaly i dont think its up to much.

I think il take it off and try and get my money back, dont wanna muck me engine up, just spent a fortune on it. I thought it sounded too good to be true

I just don't see how they can get the conversion rate high enough, even if it does anything at all - which I doubt. If there was a magic catalytic method of cracking petrol, I don't think they'd be building refineries any more.

Interesting the website tells you exactly nothing about how it works.

I'd fetch it out meself!

I spoke to a guy at the Fuel Cat trade stand at Santa Pod the other week, got a leaflet which I've lost. He said something about the lumps of metal that the petrol filters tthrough being some sort of tin compound, which was what was used to raise Octane rating  I nodded politely...

They do look bling though lol :D

Yer blinging cr#p! I wonder if any one has actually got their money back off these? :(

...just fitted a pair of ctech3000 catalysts injection systems to my NA - 1 per bank. Claims about 20% reduction in fuel or 10%bhp hike. Supposed to work by adding Platinum into the combustion process so that the fuel burns more thoroughly - instead of the unburnt carbo-whatevers being burnt in the catalyst of the exhaust system.

...I'll let you know how I get on - needs about 2000 miles to achieve optimum results.

no thats how long you need to lose the receipt and get over how much you paid for it;) - by the law of averages

pity they stopped burning witches, well at least the fake ones

...I was thinking that myself untill I realised I'd already lost the receipt. Have a look at http://www.ctech3000.com - I got 2 of the systems for the price of one - and I do about 15 to 18k miles a year in the NA so ANY saving is worth it...

Ordinarily you get 1 bottle of the stuff for about £98. It's enough for 30k miles. As the 300 is a v twin they recommend 1 bottle per bank of cylinders as it's got 2 throttles. So as an introductory offer they supplied 2 kits for the price of one.

I only fitted them on Monday evening of this week so it's too early to tell, but I should be getting a smoother engine then increases in bhp / fuel savings. I'll let you know how it goes.

Fittings not as straight forward as it could be as the vacume ports on both sides of the engine are in different places - but hey - what is straight forward about these engines...

I used to be a member of the Capri Club, and Fuel Cat advertised in there, it first came out when the government decided to stop selling 4 Star, and it was there to be used with unleaded to aid the valve seats from being pitted. Now I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Fuel Cat for this purpose, and not to help UNLEADED ONLY cars in fuel economy???

All correct, thats why it was adverised in the Granada club mag,pre 1987 V6 motors would knacker there valves on unleaded fuel.

Dave, I was a faithful member of the Capri Club too and you're right, that's how is was being promoted through the club. From one of the old magazines the basics were that it was developed during the second world war by Americans to run their motors on the shitty fuel that was running around from the middle east.

I don't see how a product that helps motors run on substandard fuel will help to increase power or get better mileage on a standard!

Surely if you want a bit more oooomph you could just use an octane boost additive and if you're doing a lot of miles and worried about the fuel consumption, go easier on the pedal..........or get a nice wee diesel.

sorry........

...if iit's still there on the Ctech website, download the White Paper from Dr Trevor Griffiths from Leeds Uni re the use of Platinum as a fuel additive - when used in aerosol form. It makes really interesting reading - if you are a nut like me... It convinced me to buy...
