Well define smart??? We assume that we are the smartest species but are we? I think we are f\/ck ups to be honest! JD, yeah they all tuck us up thats their job, but if you're interest is in cars you should check out their transport/motoring policies and when it comes to the general election next year help get rid of Labour and their car hating safety camera loving policies.

If you dont vote and the Lib Dem lot get in power you could wave goodbye to your Z as they'd have 20mph speed limits on most roads and camera you to death.

The Tories say they'll scrap the camera partnerships and give some freedom, not so much PC crap.

I will vote UKIP i think,purely to stay out of europe and stop all the asylum nonsense. I have voted tory in every election up until now.

I have never voted Labour, nor never will and im not keen on Blair with most of his policies, but i do take my hat off to him for the way he handled Iraq, i think he did the right thing by saying balls to Europe and backing the yanks, i understand alot of good people have been injured and lost their lives, but at least the brits havent laid back and let extremist nutters rule the world, like the French and all the other do gooders would of done.

Oh, and by the way, I off as many foxes as I can, whenever I can! I live in a busy built-up suburb of West London and foxes are bloody EVERYWHERE. They are filthy, noisey vermin!

 

If I look out of my living room window it's not at all unusual to see at least 15-20 of the little shits in broad daylight! They even attacked my cat and caused me to have to pay over £500 in vets bills for the operations it needed!

Have you ever been confronted by a snarling fox? I have, lots of times. They are not scared of people any more. I frequently open my front door to go out, and find 1 or 2 foxes ouside it! They don't run away, they just snarl and slowly skulk off. Had a few cases recently where they have been coming into peoples houses! One bit a baby in it's cot a while ago!! :eek:

Oh yeah, I'd kick the crap out of one if it ever went for me, but I am a reasonably healthy 6' bloke. But they would do some nasty damage to a kid or an old/frail person :( On the continent they are known to carry RABIES, but I'm safe in the knowledge the we do not have it here because the government say so. there's a difference between killing to eat and killing for sport - I agree sport fishing is also cruel though.

 

I think ppl find it hard to understand why ppl can ENJOY chasing a poor outnumbered fox to it's death. It just seems bloody cruel and makes ppl question the minds of those who enjoy it. I think lots of things in nature are cruel, but I wouldn't actively want to encourage or see them for pleasure.

the BIG political problem at the moment is the roads - there is NO obvious solution. Too many cars - ppl don't want to use public transport unless they have to.

Changing from a policy of deliberately impeding the progress of cars by the imposition of stupidly low speed limits, bus lanes, unnecessary traffic lights, chicanes, humps, pinch points, etc would cut down on a lot of congestion.

 

Finally building some of the bypasses that have been needed for years would help too.

 

Putting more workers on each set of roadworks, so we have fewer of them at any given time, but the ones that are being done get done a lot quicker would help too. There's no reason why we should have to put up with delays "until mid 2005!" :xxx:

 

And when building roads or widening existing roads, it would make sense to make them *wider* than they need to be to take into account the increase in traffic over time, rather than just big enough for current needs... :rolleyes:

 

There's plenty that can be done, but the government don't want to do it. They're happy to suggest that traffic is a major problem as they can then justify all the tax they place on it. :xxx:

That is often used as a reason not to build extra roads or add lanes, but it's b*llocks!

 

Traffic levels are bound to increase if you build a road that people want to use. So what if more traffic is generated? If you make the roads big enough to take that into account, you still have an improvement.

 

Saying that there's too much traffic for the available road space but also saying that there's no point in building more roads as they will generate more traffic explains why you think there's no solution to the problem! :x:

I agree - but ppl like their cars even if public transport was OK. You can play your own music, pick your nose (LOL) etc. in relative privacy - u can choose your speed, stop when u want etc.etc.

 

I can't see a simple solution, yet society needs to find 1. We r addicted 2 cars, but they r causing so many problems.
