Hiya peeps

Im new to the boards and am in need of some advice. I own a 91 auto Jap import and am finding that when I put my foot down there is a sudden pick up then the revs die down rapidly until i take my foot of the pedal, also, when i'm doing approx 50 - 60 mph and slam my foot down she stutters to pick up sometimes not at all. do either of these sound familier to any one? :cry:

Possibly the clutch,

 

waht sort of revs are you doing when the problems occur?

 

my clutch slips in 4th and 5th gear currently

Does it rev over 3000rpm?

Cheers for getting back lads. Andy - yeah it revs finr at 3k but know that you mention it that's when the probs seem to start.

Sounds like an airflow meter problem to me. Has it been raining when it does it?

No not really, I was thinking that it may have a limiter on it or somthing.......

mine did the same thing

once i'd changed the plugs and two of the coil packs which were worn away

it ran great

Cadpaul - how much did the new coils and sparks cost you mate?

set of plugs £60

second hand coil packs £10 each

made a huge difference

yeh i know wher that is, do u come around th city centre alot? i WAS always out and about when th car was drivable, waiting for insurance to sort it out, taking ages!
