well the fella across the road to me has a triumph tr6 so after chatting to him for a while we got onto insurance, classic car insurance,

 

he said as long as you have 2 cars and use the zed for weekends and low miles you are laughing!!

 

hmm i thought ill give it a go got some numbers off him and the first company i called was CARROLE NASH

 

went through all the details and then i got the quote of a life time

 

get this £291 yes £291 its not an error :shock: :shock:

 

so if you have 2 cars and are not using the zed that often have ago i think you will be very pleased :hyper: :hyper:

Im with Carole Nash, was paying a little less, but recently upped my limited mileage for a few more quid, also you get break down cover too.

LOL, I had a traders policy with my bikes, it cost £1652 for 25 bikes on a policy, only 1 car was allowed on the policy. I now pay £143 FC for daily drive, £680 FC for Z (mods dec;)) and i was paying £340ish for my Bike before it was squashed.

no mate, traders policy is deffo not cheaper than that, but in my circs it so far is cheaper than getting two seperate policies

Nice one my son, on a classic policy on mine? All mods declared and with Firebond...about 300+ squids! Which suits me fine as the MO FO spends most of it's time off the road! LMFAO

i saw this post and for some reason thought mine was bang on £300

just got the docs out to retax the zx and my insurance is £205-40p with houghtons:)

 

ive just rung them as the wifes pajero is due, and they have halved

the quote i got from norwich union, so needless to say another car insured with them:)

the 291 just for the Z tho right? what about your other car?

i posted this earlier elsewhere....

 

watch out for the import insurance con....more than 2 companies i got quotes from didnt put down the car was imported...this is after telling them when phoning...i spoke with somebody in the trade who stated there are a lot of co's just ignoring these details because they would lose the business (ie profit) if they couldnt quote you for an import...so they just ignore it and quote away safe in the knowledge if you dont pick up on it they get away with it...oh and if you crash they wont pay out...can you imagine the hassle of trying to get the records of the phone convesation to prove your case....and they say there is a lot of fraudulent claims...more like fraudulent employees

as they deal in imports, , deffo not got that problem with her pajero as that is an import model only, ive got a jag parked up for the winter and last time

i asked them to quote me on that, as insurance is due in august, their quote

was A QUARTER of what im paying now, fully comp, same value etc

so deffo going with them in august:)

houghtons is great...if you got a driveway or garage and stick to under 5000 miles...none of these apply in my case...such is life

I've just done mine with Houghtons - £340 for 5000 miles fully comp. Bargain. And mines an import - I checked specifically and was told its no problem.

Did you tell them you were a member on here ? I think it makes a difference. I took them same policy and got it for £297
