I'm visiting a mate on saturday who lives in a dodgy bit of Nottingham.

I'm not sure whether to take the Z or the Mrs Polo.

It seems kinda silly to have this great car, pay to insure it etc, then leave it at home.

I had a face-off stereo fitted recently as I don't want anyone smashing the door and dash to get the sound system.

I love my Z, it's very clean and standard and I want it to stay that way.

Have a lot of people had their cars broken into or stolen? Are they thief magnets? I mean, it's worth less than a medium spec BM coupe of the same age but is it more attractive to thieves? Or will they leave it alone as they don't know what to do with it?

How long is a bit of string mate? As long as you take out the stereo, don't leave any valuables on display, and make sure you arm your CAT1 alarm, then that's about as much as you can do :( I've parked in some VERY rough areas and not had a problem, luck of the draw depending upon which cock-wounds are around that night and what mood they're in :( :( :xxx:

I lived in a very good area, miles from anywhere and had it broken into buy some guys who turned up in another car...

Theres always a risk of keying by some jealous twat, but that can happen anywhere- I guess you gotta just not think the worst and hope for the best :)

luck of the draw mate. i left mine in a dodgyish place in manchester last nite (but know a guy who knows all the bouncers ;) ) so was fine. Apparently nice cars are ok in nottingham cos everyone thinks they belong to drug barons etc.

according to the leicester guys i live in a 'bad' place

park th car in th street every night, never had any trouble apart from stray footballs every now and then, lol they know not to play near my car anymore!

hey ya5 i didnt say a word!!!

but according to that website above most of leicester is dodgy (apart from the little farmy places in the middle of nowhere! :) ) glad to say im in an ok area, even tho marked as 'refer!!!'

Can't remember the name of the area (so guess this ain't going to be of that much help  ) but is it off the main road on the hill as you go up to the road into Mappeley from the city centre? If so, and I was in your position, I'd probably give taking the Zed a miss. When I visit my mate(who lives in Mappeley), I've been told by him not even to drive through there at night!

A. Nissan Main Dealer! LMFAO

I leave mine outside work in Stoke, Coventry, which is probably the worst place I leave mine, having said that I spend 5 hours a day watching her out the window and the other 5 hours cleaning her!

I think I know that area (Forest Road East?). I was told it was "very bad for prostitutes".

Last time I was there I saw loads within about five minutes so whoever told me that was well wrong.

Joking apart, I'm gonna chance it and take the Z. It's just too good to drive compared to the Mrs's 1.0 Polo. If I'm making a post on Sunday about paint shops and locksmiths I'll only have myself to blame.

Does that mean there are prostitutes or not then?

My parents live in East London. I only took the Zed there during the day and only parked it in their drive, not on the road....

......having said that, I don't take it anymore owing to the over zealous traffic calming measures. Speed ramps that are way too high they are actually level with the curbstones - you can hear the spoiler scrape as you nose slowly over them. They also have those fekking square humps that if you drive astride them you can hear your exhaust touch the tarmac and my is not even lowered FFS. Oh not to mention the 6 foot 6 width restrictions - just about the width of a ZX including mirrors

Fekking Ken Livingstone :xxx: Glad I no longer like in London :x:

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

ROFLMFAO...has to be done!

SE...only joking! FFS! Before I get flamed! LMFAO :)

Pete knows I love him! ROFL :)

Just need to get me post count up.

Nottingham has 2 really dodgy areas:

1) Hysen Green

2) St Anns

Other than that it's relatively safe.

Leicester has 5 really dodgy areas:

1) Highfields

2) Eyres Monsell

3) New Parks

4) Braunstone

5) Thurnby Lodge

Like people say though, the scrotes dont go theivin' on their own doorstep, so odds on they drive around the quieter posher areas and twoc what they can. :xxx: The people that live in these quieter areas probably all believe that no-one will bother them and probably leave the doors unlocked, the stereos in, windows down and the keys in the car anyway.........MUPPETS!!

I used to live in Radford In Nottingham. I think there and The Meadows are about as bad as anywhere in the city.

Anyway, I took the risk and left in in Sneinton. It was fine. Although I nipped out at about 1am to get something from the boot and some dodgy lad appeared and offered me a "souped up amp". And at about 2.30 I could hear some crack heads having an argument next to it.

Left mine round the back of the 'Hotel' in Blackpool this weekend. I say 'Hotel', well that was being polite, cheap and cheerfull B&B, with parking in the ally round the back!! ......................... Not a mark on it, although the parking of some others left somthing to be desired. Especially the guy who parked next to my drivers side, and there was 10 inces between us!!!!!!
