He came to work one summer day thoughts of danger were far away.

He washed the truck and polished the brass.

He cleaned the floor and washed the glass.

When his work was done he pulled up a chair.

He looked out the door and started to stare.

His thoughts were broken when they sounded the alarm little did he know of the pending harm.

As the truck raced to the fire with his heart pounding fast.

He had no idea that this was to be his last.

He could see that the smoke was thick and black.

How was he to know he would never come back.
