message for matey & all

Having revued all the comments (inc my own) this morning I think the subject of selling your car is always a spikey one,and maybe we all gota a bit protective to one of our own.Matey if you are to be a genuine zed owner and visiter to this site I think some closure to the buying / selling issue is needed in the name of peace and friendship, funny how a small issue close to home tricks you mind into forgetting some of the bigger probs the world has at the moment.my view any way Jeff TT

Ps I still love you Matt

you'll notice that i closed the thread off...

i'm not against al the chit chat and banter that goes on, i enjoy reading it sometimes, but when things get out of hand, it does noone any favours...

i know some of you have "aliases" on here, and like to try and stir some arguments, or do wind ups, and i have no problem with that either, except when they get out of hand...

we've gone through this a few times, and lost members because of it

as someone said previosuly, as the forum gets bigger and more well known, it will get more like this, but only if we let it....

when a wind up goes too far and people start taking it personally, then it's very hard to go back to the fun place it was before without the smallest thing sparking it all off again

at the end of the day, i'm not bothered whether you take notice or not, as i wont be closing the site or forum down or anything like that, (as seen on ttnet when things got personal...) and i dont often close threads, this is perhaps the 2nd or 3rd ever..

but, it will just make the whole community seem more like a school playground.

i'm not looking for any apologies, blame throwing, owning up, revealing identities or anything like that, let's just try and keep things friendly.

things like this are always going to happen, but they will happen a lot more often if people cant show some self control sometimes...

cheers

Me being a prime suspect...probably...I'd better go take a look to see what else was said after I left last night!

P.S. Negat. aliases here, not recently anyway...LOL!

Seems lately, the tone of the forum has become more, shall we say - heated? If we dont all calm down and not have our arguments in public (email anyone?) then we can once again return to what the Z forum is about - ie. The Z....

More and more the argument for seperate areas for discussion on the forum makes sense. I dont mind a laugh and a joke - but this is getting out of hand and must stop.

Jus' my opinion anyway.

OK back now! Interesting!

Look, most of us are in our own little bubble on here, go and look at other forums to get an idea of just how "not so bad" this forum is.

Anyway, when I get my car back in a few weeks I'll be too busy to be posting on here fitting all my new toys! So you can all get some peace and quiet!

If I'm not mistaken the threads in question here have mostly been Z related, especially Mattys.

Just proves it though, people aren't designed to live together in this world without being agressive towards one another! No such thing as peace...ANYWHERE!!!

Craig,

Closing the thread was the right thing to do, as a relatively new member of the forum it can, at times, appear to be a very small club indeed.

There are a group of stallwart members who are in the situation that they can have the forum 'open' on their PCs 24/7, they will, by nature, be the backbone of the group and will post more than others, many of them have met IRL and know each other personally, this can sometimes be to the detroment of 'new' members, with 'in' jokes abound, and 'ganging up'.

The bottom line is that the forum is surely about the cars and having passion for them, their are 349 listed members, that equates to the beginnings of a good club. A club is there to help and share knowledge and at the end of the day you can make some very good friends. I know from experience with other car clubs.

I will be going to the South of England meet on Sunday, I would hate to think that someone wouldn't attend 'cause they thought that they had a raw deal online or felt intimidated by personalities.

Comments anyone?

Tim

PS None of the above comments are aimed at anyone in particular, just so no one takes offence - PEACE biggrin.gif

All I can say to that is people must be pretty sad if that is the case!

SE meet on Sunday? Bummer, say Hi to my car for me! Fooks sake!

Off to meet Az tonight, I was going down to see Andy anyway but thought it would be nice to invite Az aswell. I like to meet people on this forum whenever the opportunity arises.

Maybe more effort should be made for another full on forum meet then? Seems that there is a bit of a Northern/Southern divide at the moment though, most meets tend to be aimed at the South of England which means some of us have a right trek just to get there.

Maybe somewhere a bit more neutral and easier on the travelling would be appreciated by all. Like Brum or Nottingham say...you souverners have had it good for far too long...LMAO!

Tim

;-)

Timmy,

Hey, you know I'm sad - I've even got a 300zx logo on me mobile biggrin.gif

No seriously we're all different, some like body kits, some tune the motor, some can do donuts whilst others know nothing apart from how to turn the ignition key, however everyone has something to add.

The SE meet was in reference to South of England, have corrected my previous post accordingly, sorry for confusion.

Yes, lets all meet up, maybe I'll get to talk to more people than I did at Billing

Live long and prosper biggrin.gif

Tim

Am up for the meeting in Birmingham, I bet Danny and Jeff are too wink.gif

But we are in the middle and would be better for everybody who would attend, I've been to Billing and Silverstone, about time everyone saw the splenders of Birmingham (Danny, Jeff, have we got any? LOL)

Birmingham would be best as I don't want to take my 'Dodgy Prop-Shaft' wink.gif too far.

LMAO.........am kidding, nothing personal....honest.

Matty.

Am gonna be gettin one of those, one day...(sigh) :D

EH? Errrr yes...me too...I will now become a model Z citizen and not be naughty and only post Z topics from now on! LOL!

Tim

;-)

Ah,,, the splendours of Birmingham ... well now lets see .... nope can't think of one other than the "Floozy in the Jacuzzi" LOL! Before I came to Birmingham the first time a colleague of mine in Hong Kong told me that the best thing about B'ham was getting out of it ... Not so. Having lived here for over a year, I still like it.

I'm all for a meeting in Brummy Ville!

Cheers!

Danny

Yeah but we need someone like Craig, who has power and influence over the masses, to announce it officially etc.

Otherwise everyone just pretends that they are gonna go but then they don't really mean it! LOL!

Okay, what would the idea be?

Meet in pub, chat, eat then go home?

How about Alton Towers?

You mean like poor old Andy's birthday Timmy? wink.gif

[This message has been edited by aaronjb (edited 27-09-2001).]

Kerching!!!! Now that would be an excellent day out and a good way for people to socialise! Bring kids etc. I noticed that at Billing, excellent if you've got a family.

Dump the Z and then go have some fun!

I'm defo mad for that idea. Except the fact that the season is nearly over, coz me Bros wife's Mum works there.

I get free tickets.

Tim

;-)

OK My two cents.

Im all for a happy clappy forum and all and i in no way mean to offend (well probably all english people on the forum) But why is it that someone can come on a forum, slag you of in an inadvertant way, Then when you decide to respond you become the bad person. Is it a cowerdly thing or what? (again no offence to anyone) Cause where i come from i was taught to stick up for myself, and if people dont like it then (swear word goes here) biggrin.gif

The fact of the matter is, dont dish it out and then get offended, when people respond, if you start monitering the forum and telling people what to do then whats the point of expressing yourself?

I mean lets be frank, if this forum only posted about 300zx things, we would see 2 posts a week biggrin.gif

------------------

superguy.jpg BUFF MAN!!!! or is that DUFFMAN????

Exactly Az, sorry mate, yeah...just like Mat Lad and Duffmans Holiday...DOH, I mean Birthday!

Me being one of the people that shot through BIG time...I admit it!

Maybe I'll be more motivated when I get the car back.

Tim

;-)

Bloody Hell Big GUY! Where did that outburst come from??? Have to go with you on that though, I don't wanna bring up my recent "other forum" episode again but Warren has got a point.

But my recent experience proves that if you regiment/monitor the posts to the degree that someone steps outta line even slightly the dogs are let out! Then that is SAD!

I do post alot of shite, and I hate repeating myself here as I'm sure I said this only last week. But I don't just post on here for the fookin' fun of it! I do it coz I own a ZX and generally have an interest in all things ZX. Just don't have it at the moment, so in the meantime I'm gonna post more off ZX topic than on it! That'll defo change in the next few weeks I should think.

Tim

;-)

Timmy - well you're not alone.. I was supposed to go to that too and didn't in the end.. (long story, boring, and not one to type out on a public forum)..

Still I think Andy has forgiven us.. Mostly smile.gif

Az

Warren,

Whatz up mate. I thought that status quo was returning.

I don't think that anyone accused you of being a bad person, did they? The point was that the thread was goin' round in circles with little chance of any conclusion so had to be stopped, everyone was just gettin' f**ked off.

Chill man biggrin.gif

No offence to anyone, even thought I am English biggrin.gif

[This message has been edited by TT Tim (edited 27-09-2001).]

No no im not really on about that its just that (and yes i do get accused) generally speaking you stand up for yourself and your the bad person.???

nah all is cool just trying to state something.

WHO YOU CALLING A BAD PERSON? biggrin.gif ROFL

and when do you get accused then warren ?

are you now trying to start a dig at me ? wink.gif

you have missed the point of the post, the same way that people mis read what other people say and miss the point.

if one reads something too quickly and read it the wrong way, then your reply sets the whole tone for the following replies, sadly...

if i go back and read other posts that have developed into arguments, i can guarantee that someone has mis read the original post.

i dont want just a happy clappy forum either, debate and difference of opinion is what makes the forum a good place

i also expect people to stick up for themselves when being attacked, my point is that these situations occur when people react too aggresively too quickly

i cant stop that, but i can try and point it out so that you can think about it the next time something happens...

none of this is directed at anyone in particular, so dont think i'm picking on you warren, cos you can come round here and we'll sort it out biggrin.gif , but i'm just asking for people to think a bit more before replying...

thats it from me on this matter, i'm fed up being the good guy

Well I tink it is Warren who is ALWAYS out of order biggrin.gif He always starts arguments just for the sake of it.... I think its actually his grasp of the english language but... biggrin.gif LMAO

CheerZ,

Andy Lighten up people - enjoy life while you can wink.gif

Warren has great signitures though.. dont you agree Andy?
