Hello everyone, I'm Rick, I work at Santa Pod Raceway, I have met a few of you before, and what a lovely bunch you are! I have just registered on this forum because I want a bit of buying advice on 300 zx's.

We are thinking of buying one as a show car to take to shows/cruises/meets to promote our japanese car events, and I think a 300zx would be the best looking Japanese car available for around £3,000. We will be doing it up a bit cosmeticlly, but would rather not have to muck around with mechanicals, so what should I look out for when buying a 300zx in this price range? Is there a choice of engine/gearbox that you would reccommend for reliability? Are there any dealers that specialise in this car?

Any help would be much appreciated, and I hope you like Santa Pod's taste in showcars!!!

Rick

Hi Rick

Take a look at the buyers guide for some useful info.. I think you may have a job getting a decent example for £3k but who knows...

you wanna nice blue one, they are the best colour, maybe one thats slightly modified, not too much, I may just know a man, but it might cost a bit more than your budget as good ones are hard to find! ;)

Rick,

Buy Pete Shrimps one ... I hear that is a nice example, even though it is an auto :slap:

At least its red .....

My unmodified UK auto TT is up for £4k.

The colour doesn't matter too much, because it will end up blue metalflake if all goes to plan. I am still shopping around, but this looks like a good place to start, and I'm sure all you guys will have loooked after your cars a bit better than some of the people you can find in Autotrader...

I'll be back!

Thanks again.
