STrange occurrence, My 300 is a non start- 2 things went to change the A/c belt - took the pas pump belt off, put on the new a/c belt , refitted a slightly dodgy pas pump belt, went to start her up , no go and the pas belt let go.

now no pas belt and no spark

 

Any one got any ideas, she was running fine yesterday.

have you disturbed the wiring connector on the cas unit or ptu unit, while reaching down, as they get corroded terminals and bad connections if moved without cleaning them up

Looks like it may have been the PTU as I took it off and cleaned the terminals, about 2 attempts and she started, but she is running hot, the engine would have fried eggs after about 5 mins of running. Im off to get a belt this morning for the PAS, so I can take her for a run.

 

THe other bloody annoyance is that it looks like the rear main oil seal has gone to boot. so it stank of burning oil , on further inspection the gap in the bottom of the bell housing was dripping.

Ok , got hold of a new PAS belt today, found that the PTU was quite corroded and the terminals very iffy, cleaned them as best I could for the second time, and now it ticks over at 500 rpm, So I ordered a PTU replacement from Courtesy Nissan in Texas. cant be having shagged wiring and terminals wrecking the idle stability can we.

Now got to cut my hands to shreds again fitting this poxy belt. :dance:

 

Age is relative, its how young you feel, like most things my Z feels new but its bones feel old. :tongue:

 

pcv valves on order too. :)
