Not a guru, but think I picked up a bargain last week. Got a Ricoh Capilo RR330, 3.1 Pixels, 3x optical, 2x digital, movie mode, 16mb built in, £75 QVC shop.

iv got an olympus C750 ultra zoom, not cheap - but excellent quality. 4mpixels & 10x OPTICAL zoom  (40x digital, but rarely go that high!!)

printouts on my epson 915 are really photo quality now :)

can be found for around the £350 mark, comes with charger, batteries, strap, remote control & software. only down side was it only comes with a 16mb card - upgraded to a 128mb card which is plenty now

Sony's are always a good safe bet

ive got a polaroid one cost £75 with 16mb memory 3.2 mega pixel x3 zoom with video to nice little camera

How about the Fuji A330. 3.2 meg pixels, 3x optical zoom, 1.6x digital zoom. It comes with the standard Fuji Fine-Pix softwear, which is quite good. I've not got this particular camera, but have got the A202, which I find very good for a starter type product.

The A330 should retail for about £130.

If you look up an internet price print off the page and go into Jessops, they will match an internet price!

Quite handy if something goes wrong, at least you have a shop you can walk into and rant!!!!!!!!

id have it out with them m8, their policy is they'll pricematch within 20 miles

but also with online companies as long as they are uk based

i think most companies have got to be prepared to match online now or they are going the way of dixons

bit late now mate!!

but im sure they dont do it anymore.

you just cant expect a high street retailer to charge the same as an online shop. the overheads are just too high! a lot of people will always buy from shops tho because of what mark said - you can go back if you need to sort out any problems

i cant be sure as ive never tried it at jessops, just i know someone who has

printed the info from amazon and they matched it, but as they have knocked you back, maybe best phoning first

i agree with you re the shops, unless it was an item id tried/seen i dont think id buy a camera etc via the net, as the diggy camera stuff is a minefield

back to the original question lol, ive currently got a canon powershot a80

and started with the a60 then the a70 its a top camera range, and does everything i want it to, dead easy to use, but also got loads of added features for someone who wants to fiddle, ive given the a70 to my 12 year old, and he takes some cracking photos with it, my m8 is a bit of a buff re cameras, and he completley baffled me with info re cameras, so i found it easier to try them, so that takes you back to the highstreet shops lol

Bought my daughter a Kodak 4530, 5 megapixel about 220 from jessops. Brill little camera with movie mode and sound.--Very high quality piccys, decent lenses. With a lot of the cheaper ones you dont get a good optical zoom lens. All the cheap ones do is zoom in on the pixel map for zooming in

sony dsp 10 great camara

well all the sony ones are
