Hi James

Normally the rears are 6x4

Looks like either you have an "optional extra" or someone changed them before you got your car

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Mine were 6x4, replaced mine with Kenwood jobbies.

Are they Nissan speakers in yours, reckon someone's

adapted it to accept other sizes

Well the pod looks factory fitted so maybe it WAS an optional extra! There is no way the unit has been adapted or changed about. There were Kenwood 120w speakers in there!

Some cars come with brackets to put, I think, 6x4s in. I bought some ages ago and then decided to buy round speakers and reuse the same plastic enclosures you have - they're part of the Bose system and have amps inside.

If you want the brackets, they're yours for a tenner.

Thanks Dave but I will stick with the bigger circular speakers I think and take these 6x4's back or sell them maybe.

No problem. I'm pretty sure those are uprated speakers anyway as I presume the original Bose ones blew a fair while ago. I know mine did. ;)

Oh yeah, they are def uprated speakers and look pretty good, just that I thought they were gonna be standard in there so thought I'd get the best 6x4's I could find! DOH!

I have the same on mine james, you may find you have them in the front doors too, when new they were ported boxes with an amp in each box, but I found that both my speakers and amps were gone, so rewired with just speakers, but I think the boxes help the sound anyway :)

I may be interested, bring 'em with you if you're coming round on Saturday.

Round speakers are much better than oval ones i've converted mine to take round ones rather than the 6x4.

Buy a good set of components i highly recomend the Alpine SPX range relised in 2004 very exspensive but they got to be best components you can buy try
