I just had my standard import stereo replaced with a decent, new Sony system.

I asked before hand if there would be any gaps around the unit and was told no. It's been fitted and there are quite big gaps as the car's an import so they can't use the plastic surround which goes at the front of the stereo.

Is this true?

Is there any way of getting a stereo to fit properly into a Jap 300?

I tried getting it under and no joy, tried all different positions on the bracket and no joy either there. I'm thinking of making something up myself, just to slip into the gap, something black and that you can cut! Maybe an old blanking plate.

Stick some draught excluder foam round the inner edge of the centre console???

My JVC surround won't fit either, I complained to the dodgy geezer that fitted it but he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off, oh, that was me!!!!! Bu66er

cant you just use some black silicone to fill round the edges easy to remove if you need to get behind :)
