I've seen the tailgate tub on the Z centre site, i like the idea of less weight and it will look good with no spoiler.

has anyone got one?

whats the quality like, and do they look good in the flesh or just tacky?

do you lose much head room in the back?

i suppose it would be easy to keep changing back to the original tailgate if i want.

any advice aprieciated :duffer:

Be aware that it slopes down toward the screen and turns into a mobile fish pond!

I discussed it with a guy who had one when I was getting my kit and he said he had to bucket it out or pull away from pedestrians at high speed for an amusing soaking.

You also lose the useable height in the boot.

Does look good though ;)

Be careful, there are 2 very different styles of the tailgate tub about that at first glance may look the same. IMHO Z Centre's top bit is far, far too chunky compared to the original. I mean the first bit after the targa's, it is just too thick. Needs to be alot narrower. Haven't got the software at work to point out what I mean on a pic will do later if you're not sure what I mean. Saying that, you may like it like that, we all have different tastes of course.

Well when you loose your Billing virginity in a few weeks you will see all shapes and sizes of zeds including tailgate tubs. Thats by far the best way to find out what you do and dont like, and you can talk to the people that have them.

Patience is a virtue my freind ;)

I foned them up to day to enquire as im interested to and yes they do look good with no spoiler on. They told me they take your rear window out then put a fibre glass tub in and pop rivit it in and fill and spray etc then the last thing is to stick the rear glass in. The glass sits just behind the rear seats. £500 to fit and colour match + buying the tub.

Heres a piccie of mine.

Mobile Fishpond, Who told you that rubbish. If the tub is fitted correctly and you dont park on a very steep hill everyday facing downwards then it shouldn't hold any water whatsoever. I have no issues with mine and IMHO it is one of the better mods I have done to my car, I love it, each one to their own though eh .

Well maybe it is down to the fitting but the 2 i have seen have had a definate slope to them and one of the owners told me it filled with water all the time.

I'm still tempted though.

TBH the only reason I didn't go for it was I spotted the tubs when the car was already in the bodyshop and it was too late.

I actually called Peter at PPS and said I was having one but he'd already done the prep work on the boot.

Maybe next year... :D

Good luck Chris for next year, it's worth it mate.

reckon it wud suit the gay spaceship
