I just dont know what to do!!

 

I'm skint the cars now been off the road for over 6 months and the worse thing is I cant see where the money is coming from to continue the project.

 

I know i nearly did this a few months ago but ive just started a new job and money is really tight so do i leave it covered up and just do bits when and where i can? Do i break her? (far too good to break) Do i sell the goodies i have to put on her and just get her back on the road? or try and sell her as a project to someone who wants to carry on and build something to compete to macca?

 

Its just driving me crazy everytime i see her under her cover and cant drive it. Also i'm in enough debt as it is and i dont want to go into anymore debt for her as much as i do love my zed!!

 

I dont even come on here much anymore cos it upsets me....does that make me really sad :confused: ;)

Not very constructive advice I know. I'm in similar position- have bought wreck of a zed and have huge list of things to do and thats before I even start thinking about mods. Need a mortgage for the fuel alone! Mine luckily does just about get me to work and back though. You're just gonna have to start selling all ya junk down the boot sale or start punting out dvd's or something just to get that baby back out for the summer.

Lets work it out i need about 10k to finish her so a dvd at £4 into 10,000

 

I only need to sell 2500 dvd's!!!

You could always go Cockling,I beleave theres quite recently been a shortage of labour. ;) Seriousely tho Bud stick with it on the Zed,it will all sort out in the end.I have to cringe at what mine has and is costing me.But you only live once and you will always regret it if you give up...Vinz

Way I see it mate you have the two options:

 

A) re-evaluate what you want on the car, sell the excess and use the money to finish her

 

B) take it a day at a time and do it as you planned.

 

My first thought is B, but it will be a grind and you will come to the same position in another 6 weeks, so the reality part of me says A, you might not end up with a MAcca beater, but you will have a zed on the road. :)

Can empathise completely with you Kirbz.

 

I know what its like to struggle owning a zed, I must have either bought a dog ot just had bad bloody luck. Either way, I have owned it for about 14 months now and have probably driven it for less than 2 weeks in total and done less than 2K miles. :( :(

 

I have a bill coming from Jeff soon too, but I cant afford to insure this as well as paying the bill so I will get the car back and then it will have to be insured the month after.

 

I have considered selling more times than I care to mention but I have now got to the stage where I think to myself I would be lucky to get £6K for mine, even with the mods and it owes me closer to £14K, its just doesnt make sense.

 

I guess Kirbz it depends on whether your gonna LOSE much money if you sell. If nto, then get rid and get yourself another Zed when the money is better. If u are, then

I would takeon board plan 'B' from Jock.

Well i have finally decided after lots of banging my head against a brick wall i'm just gonna get her back on the road for as cheap as poss, i just feel left out of all these meetings and miss all the male bonding!! :p

Good on ya mate. Having a zeds good enough, you dont need a land speed record breaker. From what you are saying, its sound like you would be well pissed off to lose your zed. Like Jock says, just do bit at a time and get it on the road for as cheap as poss.

 

Agree with mark too, why does spending thousands on a zed make very little difference to its value? doesnt make sense!!

I know it's tw@t of a decision to make but I think it's the right one mate.

 

Better to get it back on the road where it/you belong than to just have it sitting there in bits.

At least you will get some enjoyment out of it.

 

 

You could leave those tubby things out too, that'll save you some money ;)

Kirbz, what exactly is wrong with it? Most expensive bits are Engine, turbos and gearbox..........(and tyres depending on how big ur wheels are!)

 

There plenty of guys on here willing to lend a hand as long as you can get to them.

 

Thats what the forum is all about. I have heard great things about Andy Duff etc etc...
