Managed to fit my new wheels today on the Z. Just wanted to post up some pics so whoever may be interested can take a look.

The wheels are the Asev AS split rim and I really think they look great on the car. I had them refurbished at lepsons and I can't knock the quality at all.

Cheers

Chris

AZEV, quality mate

You're not wrong mate

Top quality .... In my book you cant beat them. Been looking for these or the A's for about 9 months.

They fill the wheel arches like 18'''s ...

I luv em

Yup, Looks class mate

Maybe I'm a little biased too coz I've got the A's but Azevs are top alloys and the classic design really siuts the Zed

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah very nice mate!

I've got 18" A's and they are a simple design but it really suits a chunky Z.

Some of the newer designs with thin spokes just look weedy on a big car.

They look just like new ,nice job. Were they badly in need of a refurb?

Hi there,

I would say that they were in need of a refurb as the laquer was coming off from underneath the split rims but the refurbers did a great job. Good as new now.

Glad you did mate ... Thought you would appreciate the pics

Looking good, nearly bought those myself. :D

Hi Mate,

Wheels look great, are the rims polished?, see i have a set of volks racing split rims that need refurb, the laquer is coming off

Now i have phoned so many places and they all tell me you cant laquer alloy - especially if its polished! but i know you can, because mine have been done!

Any ideas

Thanks

Tom

I would have thought most were lacquered.

Even my Wonder Wheels cleaner says to test it on a small patch in case it reacts with the lacquer!

The rims are laquered. I asked them before they collected the wheels and they said that they would be redone. ;-)

The thing with polished rims is the lacquer has nothing to adhere to. Not sure how long it would last. Spit and Polish who I would say are market leaders in re-furbing wheels say not to lacquer polished rims. Everyone has their own idea's I guess.

Anyway, wheels look good monkey boy! Azev's are quality, you can't beat a chunky 5 spoke design I don't think.

Did someone mention Alloy wheels????!!!!

Oh what a suprise, Hello James... ;)
