Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 300ZX after a long and happy relationship with a 200SX s14a. Which should I be looking for, any common problems? I see quite a few with around 60,000 miles, is there a big service due at this millage?

How do they change from one year to another, I've seen some references to Z32, Z33, Z34 etc?

Also, an I right in saying they were inly made from '90 to '94

Do the imports differ much from the british cars?

Thanks for any help, I know from the 200 that its good to know about all the little niggles can go wrong on a car like this

Z32 is the chassis type. Z33 is the 350Z and the Z31 is the old 300ZX.

They where made from 1989 to 1999/2000, but only available 89/94 in the UK and I think 89/96 in the US and 96 - 2000 in Japan.

There are very few differences between UK and Jap, mostly minor cosmetic ones i.e. rear numberplate shape, foglights, tint in glass.

At 60,000 miles the Cambelt should be changed.

Just the man.. come on in.. sit down , cup of tea?

I may just have what you are after, go to the for sale section and see the dirty great long threads with loads of pics about my car which is for sale. If I can work out how to post a link to the other thread and save you the hassle i will do.

LOL

Well, looks like another grommet has seen the light. There are some cars for sale in the forums, they are known to a certain extent. If you buy off a forecourt as I did you could be buying trouble.

But I love my car, especialy seeing as it hasnt gone wrong since replacing the usual stuff.
