Whats the max PSI i can put the boost up to on a standard engine?

Featured Replies

I think most people will say 16psi but turbos are only good for 14psi I believe.

I have a Apexi controller in the car but even when i turn it up to 1 Bar It won't got to that it still sticks around 0.7-0.8 Bar. What do i do to turn the boost up to a bar?

Sorry for being such an idoit but what is the duty? and how do i increase it? Total novice to these things!

i was curious about the same thing as i have a standard car. i went to the FAQ area and there is a report on basic tuning concepts and it tells u most of what u want to know.....

Injectors max out at about 14.5 psi on stock turbo's (proved via conzult). You can push the boost more but the injectors will already be suppling their maximum fuel load. You can probably get to high 16's (psi) on a cold day before det and low 16's on a hot day (proved by my car on stock IC's).

The turbo's will max out at around 17 - 18 psi.

Running on stock injectors and stock Tub's you will not get a great deal of gain between 14.5 - 16. And for the extra stress it puts on the engine and the tubs, you may as well stick to around 14.5 psi.

I used to run at 16 psi but now I run at 14.5 as the dyno didn;t show a great deal of difference between the two, well non worth talking about anyway.
