exhaust mod shock!!

Hi guys have spent all day under my zed removing the two middle boxes and the restricter and replacing with straight pipe inserts.Firstly i was gob smacked to find the internals in both boxes had collapsed and were trying to make their way down to the tailpipes. Also the material was like metal swarf like shavings..weird.I had thought the exhaust had a muffled sound to it, I wonder how many of us have had this prob without knowing. The upside is that after a test run the car is only marginaly louder but has defo increased in power. The boost is quicker to rise and I will now have to change the size of the boost jets as there is too much boost now for reliable performance.Oh by the way total cost of the job for 2m lenght of pipe 4 x clamps and some gungum = £17 ! and the difference is worth three times that.

Need to change my ride details now!!

Good to hear a Z-related success story - top work, man!

Hey, I've got a success story for you : Today I have been mostly changing my rear tyres to Bridgestone S03s and changing all my brake pads cos some of them were...uh...well, kind of...not very paddy... and they were graunching before I went away.

Not 'ny more, though! And only £19 a side for the fronts! smile.gif

A well-chuffed Ajay biggrin.gif

(Still a girl.... smile.gif)

And top work, girl biggrin.gif This all offsets the ~£900 a Nissan dealer wants to sting me for the chance of getting rid of my misfiring... =)

Ajay,

Did you ever get your rear wheels sorted ? I seem to recollect you having two rights. (which in this case did make a wrong!)

Oh here we go....LOL.....Andy off on a wheel fetish crusade again!

Don't tell him Ajay girlie, keep him frustrated for a while! LMAO!

You're just jealous because my wheels turn (without being pushed up and down the SE car park !!!!)

AndyP : uh...well...technically noo...I haven't got them sorted...next on my To-Do list, honestly....right after the filters, high-level brake light, front Bridgestones, chip....et al....ahem! smile.gif

So...if anyone wants to contribute to the "Sort Out Ajay's 2 Rear Rights Before it Sends AndyP Loopy" fund by donating / swapping / selling a left rear, I would be inordinately grateful biggrin.gif wink.gif

Just *exactly* how grateful would you be? wink.gif

Az

For whomever donates / swaps one I might even stretch to buying a packet of crisps with the pint. biggrin.gif

As long as it is a pint of coke ( no drinking and driving here, h-officer! biggrin.gif )

Where did you get the pipe from ?

Thanks

Nick

I bought the pipe from a trade exhaust supplier, but I know its available from ATS Exhausts because I went there first but they had to order it and I did not want to wait

they quote me £12 for a 2 meter lenght of 2.5" also buy the clamps from an exhauts place they are usually cheaper than at a motor spares etc..Jeff TT
