sussed had no clutch fluid

couldn't get into any gear

need to know where the master slave cylinder is situated

can i access the lines on axle stands as my mate needs to bleed the lines as there is air in them

obviously can't move the car and take it to a garage, so doing this on the driveway is the only option

I need to tell him by the morning, so we can put my car on stands in our lunch break, finish it off after work

how long does it take approximately to get the air out?

for future reference I don't understand where all the clutch fluid went

At least i know where to top it up now!!

Hello you.

Master cylinder is in engine bay, bolted on the bulkhead in front of the clutch pedal. there should be a tiny reservoir for filling up the fluid.

Slave cylinder is found on the gearbox, underneath drivers' side. There is a bleed nipple on this.

There is also a bleed nipple in the front right hand wheelarch, somebody please help me on this as i have never had to bleed mine using this.

Will post some pics if i can find some usefull ones.............

Yeah, you can easily bleed the clutch, just by jacking up the drivers side of the car. Instructions are on my site and also in the online manual.

ok....... this is your brake reservoir.....

Towards the centre of the car, and down, there is a smaller one. this is for the clutch.

any thing else i need to know

any thing else i need to know

Yeah, if you spill DOT5 over the engine bay it stinks and it looks like your car is overheating. ;)

Have you found out why it disappeared? I had a split pipe. :( (By a strange coincidence, it started after a 20 mile crawl round the M25.)

where do i buy pipes/ lines from

Sometimes getting the last bit of air out the slave cylinder can be a pain. I remove the slave cylinder, turn it round so the bleed nipple is at the highest point, clamp the piston/rod in place, bleed it again and then re-install it.
