Grrrgggghhhh

Went out to the car this morning ready to do the IAA valve jobs. What do I find when I get to it? I find that the Offside Rear is flat. Took it off and there's a bloody nail through it frown.gif Unfortunately the tyre is fairly new and the nail is next to the sidewall making it irrepairable - not that I'd repair it anyway!!! Biggest problem is the fact that the car is on 18s frown.gif Now I've gotta spend a small fortune on a 265/35ZR18 tyre frown.gif

Is there any chance of sueing the council over the state of the roads cos my brother had EXACTLY the same problem last sunday frown.gif (same tyre, same place).

Oh well, good news is that when I removed the IAA assembly, it was quite obvious why the idle was soooooo shit - the connector on the air regulator is green biggrin.gif Bit of contact cleaner and it should all be ok again smile.gif

Good and bad news I suppose......

CheerZ,

Andy

What an arse frown.gif I doubt you'd have any luck sueing the council - but it could be worth a shot if you know a friendly lawyer..

I know people who have (successfuly) sued for potholes buggering alloys though..

Just finished polishing the car...

The aircon compressor is so siezed that if you turn the fan on, the car stalls mad.gif I bet the guy that regassed it didn't put any oil in... rolleyes.gif

And I still have my oil leak - looks like the water jacket on the turbo/connector.. D'oh frown.gif

why dont you repair that tyre then use it for santapod? i mean at least you only bugger one tyre up then lol

i hate that when that happens.i would attempt to go to the council and complain as you dont get if you dont try

Sorry to hear about the tyre. Ive also got to invest in a couple of 265X35 18's. The tyre co Nottingham seems best price so far.

I dont think you have much chance sueing your council as they are only obliged to keep the roads in decent and safe condition - not pick up nails. Hence getting a successful claim for pothole damage is one thing - I did it once took 6 months but they paid up.

You will get no luck from the council. When the UK was being flooded early this year I was driving in Chichester near to Portsmouth when I needed to go over a pipe which had been laid across the road and covered in a small ammount of concrete. (These were there for the council to pump out peoples houses). Anyway I slowly drove up and over. The other side was steeper so the car droped and on of the bolts for the pipes crunched on my torque converter. Needed a new one at great expense and didn't get a dime off the council.
