How do these people stay in business?

Fantastic price and very efficient service and very friendly people. I phoned them on Wednesday and gave the details and was told they would ring back with a quote later in the day. About 5 O'clock they rang back and asked if they could ring tomorrow because some insuracne companies where busy or they where having difficulty getting in touch with thm, or something. Thursday afternoon rang with this fantastic quote. :D

And to be honest, when I was reading out the list of mods I was thinking at the back of my mind, "This is going to be expensive" :D But its not.

Give them a go. :D

whats the number mate?

Thats fantastic, will be speaking to them come renewal time!!

Oh you lucky lads with your rural postcodes!

There's no doubt about it - they're seriously competitive if you don't have a city postcode North of Watford!

I think the classic car status makes a huge difference as well, but does this mean that you tell them it's your second car?

It is my 2nd car. That will make a huge difference.

Just wanted to give another thumbs up to Houghtons.

They insured my Zed as a 2nd car for a measly £190. When I sold it after only owning it for three months, and got an older (pipe and slippers) classic car I figured to lose big time on the insurance.

I didn't. They rotated the policy the insurer agreed to take my new car on risk (despite it not being Japanese) and I got a refund of £70.

Now that is a broker who works for you.

Like... erm... Wigan? Where SRRAE lives?

with 2nd car policy do you have to have the first car insured with them too?

Nope its with Tesco. But the insurance on both cars are due on the same day. I may phone and ask for my Corsa too.

is that the same with it as a 2nd classic car too?

sorry just re-read the first post....dumbass :slap:

 !?!

Out of interest, have they said who the insurers would be?.. Houghtons being a broker, I take it? I guess that's also quoted with no no-claims either, because it's used on the 1st policy (with Tesco, right?). 1+1 = 0.2?! I don't get it.

Mine's through Houghton's with Chaucer... but isn't "classic" because I'm in a naughty postcode, it's just standard SDP. (Which means I can drive it to work if I feel like a change, so no bad thing.)

Is the "Purple-Peril" actually on the road yet or is the insurance cheap 'cos all the bits are still in your garage? ;)

Yeah its not insured to be driven, that insurance is if the turbos in the garage cause an accident. ;)

No that is the price for the car with the spec it will be on the road. :D

Its only £100 more than my daily driver Corsa 1.2 with 6 years NCB

How long before it gets it's debut?

Only time will tell.

I may just turn up to a meeting in it.

But to answer your question, I dont know :(
