Odometer Help!

I recently posted a question regarding the odometer ''jamming''

 

well i have it out and i just cant see what could jam it? - its very clean and seems fine. i have read this artical:

But the difference between his and mine is mine has ''tamper proof'' screws and a big chunk of metal stopping you gaining access to the motor worm gear!! (see pic)

 

Any ideas on how to get these screws out, or any advice on this matter?
