ive attched a few photos, after i parked today

and after returning to the car, i saw TWO coppers, placing a fixed notice on my car, and it states "in charge of vehicle causing unreasonable obstruction-near corner"

as i'd seen them place it on the screen, i stayed clear as pointless argueing the toss, and dropping meself further in it, so i rang me wife to bring the camera down, (by the way ignore the yellow lines, i was in that respect parked legally) luckily AS she arrived with the camera the guy in the blue car parked behind me, so after taking that photo i then told him, and he moved in front, and THEN i asked him for his name and address lol, to confirm from my photos where i was parked,

im positive it was ticketed because of the car it was, and the road angel in the window, but imo it's not obstructing the corner, btw its one way street

and i was correctly parked to the right, im not arsed about the £30, do i print the photos, and argue it, or am i wasting me time??

there is a legal distance you're allowed to park from a corner, cant remember the exact distance, but if youre within that then theres bugger all you can do

If you were parked legally you have to challenge the fpn.

Its a bit unclear in your pic but is the rear bumper hanging over the double yellow lines? If it is then theoretically they have got you i think :-( but what a bunch of tossers!

Also can you prove you didnt move the car after the ticket was issued?

You should post this on http://www.pistonheads.com for advice.

Go to the 'speed plod and the law' forum , some decent coppers use it.

Cheers,

Surely if your not parked over the yellow lines your in the right, there is a distance from parking near a corner but it looks like you are far away from it!

Here is the distance and conditions....................................

at least 10 metres (32 feet) away from any junction, close to the kerb and facing in the direction of the traffic flow

the yellow lines were all the way down both sides

but i WAS parked legally, cheers for that distance MAC, i think i'll have to go and measure it tomorrow, ALTHOUGH that road is not a junction, just a continuation of a road

no i can't prove i didn't move the car after it was ticketed, but unless they measured it, can they??? but i suppose two of them saying the same

Don't forget you are facing the wrong way too:(

I really cant see why your parked illegal if your on a bend and not a junction ill have to look that up might be a new one lol.

cant help with the law but the spoiler is wicked where did u get it??

yeah iu understand it's 10 metres which to me looks like you are under.

But you are probably right, if it was a ford fukarse you'd be ok.

Billy show your pics to the mrs mate and she said she would have nicked ya too mate sorry, :x:

1. to close to the corner of the said bend

2. facing the wrong way to the flow of the traffic, obstructing traffic approaching the bend making them pull out on to on coming traffic.

I know this doesnt help ya mate but hope it clears it up for you.

 Matt

But he's not facing the wrong way! Its a oneway road.

Its a mean thing for two coppers to do this!

Politely challenge it Billy!

The road is one way so he's not parked in the wrong direction.

It's a shallow bend so it doesn't look like he's obstructing traffic.

But... you are parked on double yellows so it's no waiting at any time.

I'm not sure if you are allowed loading time on these but as you didn't approach the police, they probably thought you'd left it there.

:(

cheers all for comments, as the night goes im calming down a bit

hence the reason i never approached them when they put the ticket on

as stated i wasnt parked illegally (i won't go into that) i park there twice a week

and never had a problem, and they havn't done me for parking, i waited for ages for a wagon to come round, so i could take a piccy to show it could get round

SGT C as a couple have mentioned its a one way street, so i was parked on the correct side, assuming everyone drives to the left lol, in front of me the whole right hand side cars were parked, for 300-400 yards,

i'm not one of those who usually harps on about coppers, and they should be out catching burglars etc, as i wouldnt have their job for a gold clock, but two woodentops walking hand in hand, just to issue a £30 fpn, they probably

both had their best night in bed this year lol, must have really turned them on, i doubt if im gonna waste me time and like a prat measuring roads and then maybe cause meself all kinds of hassle next time they want a giggle

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL;)

ronttuk the spoiler is the one from Lukes GB

LOL I'd love to know what the excuse is and if you informed all the local coppers of your special exemptions?! :D

well the blue badge on the window screen USUALLY covers it;)

??? Parent and child parking at Tescos?

You cannot park on double yellow lines and say you were legally parked!

Just because you parked there before (many times) and never got a parking ticket before.

Yellow lines are yellow lines and that is No Parking at anytime!

Sorry maybe not helpful to you.

Arthur

So what does a blue badge mean?

I use viagra and can't walk?

Is there a massage parlour opposite that we can't see?

;)

LOL! Sorry I know the subject is not funny but the site states

The disabled parking badge scheme is a national scheme for people who:

Are registered blind or

Have severe walking difficulties or

Regularly drive but are unable to turn the steering wheel by hand.

BMW drivers then:D

Can u park on double yellows then with a disabled badge?
