Now i've had a twin turbo for about 3 weeks and used to it i need to make it faster!!!!

 

Can anyone give me a rough idea of cost and recommend product for a boost controller.I also think i need to change the ECU slightly,not sure exactly what but again some advice would be good.

 

Finally what kind of difference will it make to 0-60 or top speed?

Chip and boost controller at 1.1 - 1.2 bar will give you around 50-60 more horsies and a huge grin!!!

As for what boost controller - flavour of the month seems to be the GReddy profec e01 - so much so that I've even got one to replace my trusty old Apexi AVCR.....

 

For profecs try either GPS, or Chris@GetGReddy, both in the traders section

Before is suposed to be 5.6??

After, I guess around 5ish, maybe under on a manual (cos of the improved launch, I'm not picking on autos....)

fitting/mapping is usually around half a day....

give Chris (getGreddy) or Johnny (GPS) a shout for prices and delivery........

I got mine cheap, but I think they usually go for around £399ish?

for the chip, you'll need to get your ecu socketted (this should'nt cost more than £10, maybe £20 in london....) then its plug and play.........

PM john dixon - he'll be able to advise you much better than me on chips

nah you'll be fine so long as you get a chip sorted and stay below 1.2 bar.....

might also be worth sticking to super or optimax too

Just had a chip and boost controller fitted, wow, what a difference! I have the Greddy Profec E-01 btw, looks daunting but well worth the money IMO.

 

Speak to John Dixon or Baggins about a chip, top blokes.

I'm in a dilema about whether to use Optimax or regular unleaded,the manual says 95 RON which is regular but isn't Optimax 97 or something????

Just to add, I'm not running big boost (about 9 - 13 psi depending on how I set it) even running 9psi (stock boost) you get much better midrange performance.

I always use Optimax, I did even before I had it chipped and my car is my daily drive!

 

Just don't ask me how much fuel costs me in a year!

You naughty boy. If you run stock turbos through a decatted pipe with 1.2 bar you will be looking at new turbo seals before too long - AND YOU KNOW IT!

 

That's where I was and 12-15 months later I'm spending over £4k to fix it properly this time. If I were you I wouldn't run more than 1 bar on a stock turbo with decat, if you're planning to keep the car any length of time.
