Alloy Welder Needed...............

Anyone know anyone who can weld Alloy Wheels? caught a speed bump and got a crack in my front wheel about 1" long.

armour fabrication welded my alloy for me i had a crack on mine about the same size was only £15 and he did it while i waited anyway give em a ring

Nice one, are there any issues to be concerned about re the strength of the weld. I don`t exactly hang about in the car and don`t want to be thinking about it failing.

had no problem with mine and the crack ran to the inner edge of the wheel from what i remember he drilled it to stop the crack spreading and ground it down after welding in fact its very hard to spot now

ive done a few at work and you do get the odd one that is difficult, you know as soon as you start welding if its gonna take ok. Billet alluminium welds a treat but wheels are a very porous cast alloy that contains all sorts of other crap. If it does work then it will be as strong as before and you have nothing to loose as the wheels knackerd anyway.
