Hey guys,

Quick question for anyone that has removed the AC compressor, reading from the TT.net tech Damon uses a 'Crows Foot' Wrench to remove the bolt at the back.

As far as i can speculate this must be a some sort of wrench / Spanner with a offset head of some kind however im not sure without acutally looking at the job at hand. Which is the problem as i wanna get the whole job out of the way next weekend. not leaving me a lot of time to go shopping for missing tools Etc.

Any help Pics Appreciated

Cheers

Nico,

have a look at some oil filter wrenches, as they are normally used for that.

it looks like.. well.. a crows foot.. lol

seriously, it is a three pronged thingy, with a ratchet type mechanism between the three prongs.

as you turn/tighten it, the three prongs come together, until they clamp around the bolt.

else, you could get a socket with spring loaded rods inside, which basically lock onto any bolt

Craig,

You badass gangsta, hood dwellin, ho husslin pimp you, your knowledge of american never seases to amaze me.

But allas i still have no idea what you are talking about :o(

It sounds to me something like a Ratchet opertated angle nosed pliars and a gear puller.

dont suppose anyone has a pic do they ?

Cheers

Aha This is what a bloody Crows Foot wrench looks like, now i have never seen one of these in my bloosy life. I think i may have to "improvise" a solution for that problem.

If im V lucky mine may not have the bolt on it as it has already been removed once before.

C'mon guys, it's not such a big deal.

Just gotta use the usual "rubber hand" trick here.

I mean it's the standard procedure when working with Z's.

Just use your hand and stick it in there from below. Just find the right angle...

I used an ordinary socket wrench. You just have to have

access to a lift, otherwise it could be a little bloody...

Good luck!

Maciej

Oh, I forgot. I removed the sway bar for better access.

I've done everything from below the car and didn't have to

dismantle anything from the top.

Cheers for the help guys,

Unfortunatly i dont have the luxury of a lift, and im having the tranny put back in, abiet with new nicely lubed up exhaust bolts. Hopefully it will be ready by the weekend as the place that are doing it are draggin their feet somewhat as they thought it was a 200sx!!!!

Im sure it will fabricate something weird and wonderfull for the job at hand

Anyway Cheers guys

P.s Craig i feel sorry for the crows around your place if there feet look like that ROFL :o))
