I am going to fit a JWT air filter at the weekend. My question is after fitting would it be a good idea to reset the ECU?.

Cheers.

Your a funny f*cker hermy, lol. I went to fit it last weekend but couldn;t get to the bolts holding the stock air box. Any tips (other than getting the hacksaw out)

I think you will need to remove the front bumper if you really don't want to cut the brackets.

Try for 10 minutes and I'm sure you'll end up getting the hacksaw on it, just like everyone else has :D

Disconnect the battery before your start and this will reset the ecu. Why not clean the throttle bodies at the same time.

If you don't have an open ended 10mm spanner, at least I think it's 10mm buy one! it took me about an hour to unbolt the nuts behind the bumper as you can only move it about an inch at a time, it can be done without removing the front bumper though

Look here for a guide:

Good idea, all though I have quite recently (6 months ago) cleaned the TB's. Do you think they would benefit doing them again?.

Hermy

Cheers mate. I think I will try a get it off without cutting, due to the fact if I do sell her I would probably sell it stock.

didn;t know you could use WD40. Last time I bought some special carb cleaner (cost a fair bit too)

WD40 works but slowely. Carb cleaner does the job far quicker

Thanks mate :)

I got the stock air box off quite easy when I cleaned my filters, didnt realise there was any problems with taking it off.

Like said its easier to cut the two brackets, I personally spent an hour undoing the bolts on either side. They are right little buggers.

reseting the ECU is a must really, you have a different ammount of air flowing and it may cause the engine to limit you to 4500rpm if the ECU gets confused.
